Rycen took my sons hope away.

Hmm, well I hope this gets worked out one way or the other.
I wish Over Kill would just man up and make it right.

if im not mistaken this guy was banned on the green forum as well. the second username Lonnie was what gave it away. sucks you had to go through this. Its not hard to practice proper etiquette when buying and selling. Those that make it difficult deserve the punishment they receive and should not have the privilege to be a part of a community like this. Rycen has always been a fair mod from what I have seen. unfortunately over kill probably wont do the right thing which sucks.

I did some searching and found he has the same username on another forum.... Overkill.... name is listed as Ross Eller. was I seeing things I did I see he has gone by other names?

I have been following this thread for several days, just keeping my thoughts to myself. The circumstances - whatever they really are - seem truly regrettable. This thread was clearly maintained in order to facilitate some sort of resolution; that clearly has not happenned. Judging from posts by the involved parties it also appears unlikely to happen. It would seem that DD is going to need to wait for the outcome of the Paypal dispute and from what DD has recently posted OK is refusing to come to the party.
So...given the unfortunate circumstances, does this thread serve any continued purpose or is it time for the moderators to make a final decision, take whatever action they deem neccessary and close the thread? At this stage I just do not see any good coming from this thread and it could impact the perceptions of people considering joining BF. I trust the judgement of the Mods completely - I think this episode proves their character and commitment; I just dont think there is anything more to gain here.

Well, wow. In my mind all of this is rather simple.

  1. The seller tried to sell a knife not in his possession. Gotta raise an eyebrow on that alone.
  2. The buyer was patient far longer than most people would be and for that patience was treated to excuse after excuse and nothing tangible except for physical threats. No one should threaten another like that, excuses notwithstanding.
  3. When the seller could not/would not resolve the buyers concern and having both knife and money, then he was appropriately banned by the mods as set in the rules. The rules are not there for everyone except special people. They are universal. Mods did right. Kudos for their actions.
  4. IMHO, the seller is prone to exaggeration at the very least. If he has the medical issues in his family that he claims then there are agencies to help and other venues to sell items. Losing a deal and the ability to sell here is no ones fault but his own and cannot be the straw that broke the camel's back as he claims. If his story is even true, his child will not die because of this situation. That is actually an absurdity to even mention such.
  5. The seller is back and shows absolutely no contrition.
  6. In the sellers sig currently: "Looking for Busse snakeskin micarta - RMJ hawks - Winkler 2 axes- Tracker Dans Greymatter -" Seriously? And we are expected to believe his story?
  7. His family's medical situation - even if you believe it is 100% true - has no bearing whatsoever on this deal. None.

When I think about those facts I can only come to one conclusion and that is that the seller behaved with a poor set of ethics and continues to so.

BTW, nice job on the part of drift draft handling the situation.

JMO.

This is an absolutely shameful display. Any person that has seen the emotional pain caused to loved ones by cancer or a similar health problem, and even those that haven't, will understand just how foul it is to use it as emotional blackmail as it has been here. To even be put in the position where people could consider it as a lie is just beyond explanation. I don't even know what to say beyond that.....

Drift Draft has been dragged into what looks very like a scam and has done nothing wrong in any way. The same is far from true for Over Kill.

Due to his failure to act in good faith and honor the chance given to him to promptly rectify this matter, Over Kill is now returned to banned user status.

^^^ I'm happy he's banned, he's obviously not good to his word on deals and wants to make tons of excuses for everything.
However, this may or may not help Drift Draft, but it will help people in the future not dealing with him and getting scammed.

I truly hope everything with Pay Pal works out and Drift Draft is able to finally get his money.

Best of luck.

^^^ Yes, it's called an IP ban which is the most you can do with forum software. He can log in from a public computer with a new email address and new user name, but he will be found out eventually.

This just stinks all the way around. For someone to use illness as a fraudulent excuse is just shameful.
As they say...Karma can be a real......

Bravo Overkill....way to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory as it were! You were given a great second chance and you blew it. DD, I hope you are made whole.....best of luck!!

The mods have a thankless job and they went above and beyond here, trying to give OK the benefit of the doubt. He had every opportunity and still refused to make good. Hopefully the paypal dispute comes out in DD's favor, just to soften the blow.

2nd email: I want you to know he is my life and if he dies, well i know where you live.

Whoa, not cool at all!!! This just shows what a scumbag the guy is. I also call BS on the whole "My son has cancer thing." He seems like he's just trying to jerk everyone's chain.

Just my small input but I think this thread now fits this description.

Hall Of Shame
For research purposes only - this forum serves to collect information on those who have displayed particularly poor judgement and refuse to make right.

It is always sad to see a fairly established member bring them selves down in flames. I suspect drug addiction is behind this whole matter as others have stated.

As far as PayPal goes, if you have done a decent number of transactions through PP, and you have a claim sided against you, PP will in fact deduct the money from your account(whether the money is in there or not) and give it to the buyer. It will cause him to have a negative balance, and eventually PP will move it on to collections if the account is not made whole.

Since overkill has a fair number of feedback, I am sure he has used PP enough for them to "trust" him, and just deduct it from his PP and give it to DD. The only reason they will not do that, is to protect them selves from people intentionally scamming PayPal and opening new accounts.

I hope you get your money back, and hopefully this post will give you a little bit of relief, knowing that you have a very good chance of being made whole. As far as OverKill, I hope you see the error of your ways and try to rectify this situation. Get checked into Rehab brother, I am sure you weren't always like this.

No, let the title stand. Let everyone see what the OP was willing to say when he got called upon to make right on a deal he made. We all know how bogus that statement really is.

Good point. Hadn't thought of it in that regard. Thanks for the feedback.
