Rycen took my sons hope away.

Sorry if, by being honest, I sound like a total DB, but, well, here it goes.

OverKill, Lonnie, or whatever new account you are creating today to continue to whine incessantly about this matter, you screwed up. Multiple times.
First, you could not deliver as originally promised. Period. Your buyer was patient for a spell, not that he had to be. He was working with you. You still were delayed shipping it. He finally decided to move on, and wanted his money back. Second screw up, you spent the money, for what it doesn't matter, before you could deliver, and therefore you could not deliver a refund were it to be asked for, and it was. Bad business move. Plain and simple. Third, you refused to do as the moderator, working purely as a go between to solve the problem, asked. That's their job, as is banning folks who don't follow up to their end of a deal, thus keeping Bladeforums a good place to do business. Everything happened as it should have given the circumstances. You brought it on yourself. Sorry. Let it go.

Now, on another note, Sorry about your kid. Nobody likes to see other members' families or friends go through that stuff. It sucks. No way around that. This site is full of awesome folks who go well above and beyond to help others, and support them, through things like this. What irritates the hell out of folks is to exploit your trials in life, and especially exploiting your child's illness, to whine and blame all the rest of the world for your poor business dealings. Why not rob a bank and blame it on paying for medical bills and see how that flies? What you did, on a lesser scale, is what you did. You accepted someone's money, spent it, and did not provide them with the knife they paid for. Theft. Period. A child's illness is not an excuse for criminal behavior.

I wish the best to your son. I hope he recovers from his illness. I also hope you will move on and quit beating the crap out of this dead horse. You screwed up. Fix it, and move on. Far away.

This smells like a pattern I am very familiar with in my line of work: substance abuse. Someone starts misusing funds, then telling sob stories to cover for it which make anyone who presses them feel like they are the bad guy. Then as the stories fall apart they defend themselves by bending the facts - half of which is to try to convince themselves rather than others that they aren't the bad guy. People get into this "let's pretend" mode where they try to substitute stories for reality, with increasingly passionate dedication. As the mistrust increases the efforts at storytelling become more extreme.
The cancer story smells false because (a) it was not mentioned earlier (b) it's an over-the-top sympathy ploy (c) it makes no sense - selling one or two knives does not make the difference between being able to get treatment or not, such treatment is vastly expensive and involves long-term repayment plans if not covered by insurance. Plus many hospitals have programs to cover costs of care for kids.

Maybe I am wrong but I am very familiar with the scent of this brand of BS. If so then Overkill you are not fooling anyone but yourself, so it's time to seek help. Oh and stop being a douchebag about the knife, borrow the money to pay DD back so you can start treatment with a clear conscience about that at least. Although I suspect by this point you have a whole lot of others pissed off at you, I doubt your scams are confined to BF.

If I am wrong about the above then as an upstanding guy who stil has friends/relatives who will speak to you, I am sure you can fnd one to loan you $ so you can just pay DD and be done with this and move on -- you have bigger things to worry about.

Oh and I say keep the post title as it is, it is so over-the-top that it can serve as sort of a BF cultural reference point for delusional fingerpointing.

22 days without either refunding or delivering despite requests and official action?? In the meantime a lot of time&energy spent on berating other members, a mod and the buyer?

Doesn't this sound just a little bit like a heady mix of delusion, threat, blackmail and evasion...?

Simply refund the money or send the knife. Or is the knife no longer available....

Has he made any arrangments to get you paid up ?
Not one time since this started. Only lame excuses and threats. These 2 PMs sent by him on 6/13 are the last correspondence we've had.

You just went from getting the knife shipped or your money refunded tomorrow to a month long paypal dispute. I just dont get it.

Unless you count the threat he emailed.

Anyone have his full name so if typed into google this thread pops up? I have his addy but all he gave me for a name was Chase E when he won my recent contest (thanks for the heads up before I sent it DD)

In my experience Rycen is one of the very best and fairest moderators I have ever encountered. I also, coincidentally, have an immediate family member with terminal cancer so I know the strain that puts on the family. It is unfortunately well known that medical issues, especially cancer, are used as a narrative to run scams. How do we know the truth? It doesn't matter, because family emergency or not, a seller can always find a way to hold up his end of the deal. If he is honest.

+1 about Rycen, and well put. Sorry about your family tragedy. Prayers for a miracle in whatever form it comes.

If Over Kill is leaving it to PayPal to resolve this, he will lose twice. PayPal will return the money, and we will see no reason not to return him to banned status, permanently. We only lifted the ban to allow him to achieve some kind of dignified resolution between the principals. He has diligently avoided doing so.

Wow.

yep title of thread needs to be changed. Mod being blamed is wrong, imho. wronged party should be made whole. Personal tradegy or not doesn't mean one shouldn't try to right the wrongs.

No, let the title stand. Let everyone see what the OP was willing to say when he got called upon to make right on a deal he made. We all know how bogus that statement really is.

Exactly. We all know that rycen is a fair Mod and had nothing to do with what the title claims... That responsibility rests squarely on Over Kill.

Let him leave it to Pay Pal if that's what he's doing.
Drift Draft will get his money at some point and then this scammer will be banned.
It's horrible you've had to go this long without being refunded or receiving your knife Drift Draft.
But at least we know you're a stand up guy and now know that Over Kill isn't.

I wish he would just get on with it and refund you, and it really irritates me that he spent your money without delivering.

But if you have to wait for Pay Pal, at least you know the money will be coming and that Over Kill will no longer scam anyone else here on the forum.

Best of luck.

Not a for sure thing. I am guessing he has already taken the cash out of pay pal so there will be nothing to refund unless pay pal buyer protection will kick in.Not too sure how that works.
