Sad day for my Sebenza

No I don't post much here, I just read. I don't usually have much to talk about. Most of what I want to say is usually covered so I try and not clog up the board. I also didn't have much spare time to do much posting on any board I'm a member of, I just finished up my degree and I work full time. So between work, family and school work I just didn't have *free time* Sorry you don't believe it. I only posted here because no one I know really knows or cares much about knives, so other than the sentimental value they just didn't get it. Figured people here would.

Edit: It didn't separate from the clip, the clip actually broke.

30 is a little late to be finishing up a degree. It certainly isn't unheard of, but typically people finish their degrees before the age of 25.

If this is true I'm sorry, that's one of the saddest things I've ever heard. Perhaps the reason I'm being so skeptical is I'd like to believe this didn't happen.

The thing that really makes me wonder about the whole thing is that he didn't say he simply lost the knife, or that it simply fell out of his pocket. He stated that the clip actually broke. Isn't the clip titanium like the handle is? How can a titanium clip break if it's just holding the knife into his waistband? And if it did wouldn't he have heard or felt it snap?

If this story is true post your friends name, link us to a newspaper story. Why would someone not do that? Usually when people have close friends and family die young they want other people to know their names and want them to be remembered, they even start websites for them usually.

But instead of simply answering questions about his supposed dead friend he gets defensive and clears the original post.

A pic of the broken part of the clip that was left would be relevant to the issue of legitimacy.

How did you retain a piece of the pocket clip if the part attaching it to the knife broke off? Not accusing of anything, just curious. It just seems that if the knife were to break loose, the rest of the clip would go awol as well.

I'd probably go back to any place you may have snagged something. That's how I've found some knives that I've lost.

I was wondering that too. it seems like the clip would have fallen off and the knife would have stayed in the waist band.

Hey, I just googled your username. While this really isn't solid proof it does make me think you're lying.

j413760 is not a common name at all. There still could be more than one guy going by the name j413760 though, I realize that. But here's what I found when I googled your username.

1. I found a Flickr account of "j413760" that contained, among other things, a picture of a Wisconsin manhole cover:

So, assuming this is your account, I find it kind of odd that you're taking pictures of Wisconsin manhole covers while hanging out in New York with your friend.

2. I found accounts with the username "j413760" registered to several celebrity porn sites and forums, including a forum called "Dumpster Sluts" where the profile of "j413760" says "I read my dads playboys"

I also notice that persons join date to that forum was around the same time you joined the forum here.

So I don't know. Maybe there's another j413760 running around. Or maybe it is you and there's some explanation for the Wisconsin manhole cover photo while living in New York and man in his late twenties having to look at his Dad's porn.

Alright guess I'm done here! accuse me once, twice one hundred times of not being truthful, whatever... Accuse me of not loosing my best friend and I'm done. It's bad enough how I feel about loosing him, I don't need this shit on top of that!

Flickr account is mine, picture is about 100 feet down the street from my house in NY. That foundry supplied hundreds of cities all over the US with steel. And my user name came from a local club a bunch of us started (including RobOBob) back in like 98 and lasted up until a few years ago, and I KNOW I'm not the only one using it. Ebay, dumpstersluts and several others aren't mine.

Take care everyone, even those who don't believe me. And take my advise about not taking live for granted. I lost my best friend and wish I would have done and said more. Feel free to keep accusing me of lying, but as of this post I'm gone. I know when I'm not welcome somewhere.

Quality of life cannot be defined by things and possessions but by measure of ??? anyone??
But can be defined by the amount of love in one's life. After all, that is really all that matters, at least for me.

1. A photobucket account under the same username has a picture of a bicycle in front of a NY license plate. Yellow Mustang on same account has NY plates. An account on a reef forum posts a thread that links to the aforementioned photobucket account has the Username ReefininNY. A wine forum account with same username lists Endicott NY as location.

2. Everyone likes porn.

From this information, I have concluded the following:

If you are going to do it, do it right.:thumbdn:

Here's "j413760" posting pictures of his free ipod. (This was a thing a while back where you had to get a bunch of people to sign up for something and if you got enough people they sent you the ipod):

IDK, none of this google stuff really proves anything. I'm sort of on the fence whether you're lying or not. I find it extremely odd how you say the losing of the knife happened, if I'm reading things right, it seems like you're saying you had it clipped to your boxers and the clip snapped and it fell down your pants leg all without you knowing?

Regardless of if you're telling the truth or not, you shouldn't be upset over this. If you're telling the truth and the Sebenza really is such a crappy knife that its clip snaps, then it's an overpriced piece of junk and you're better off without it. If you're lying then you shouldn't be upset because none of this ever happened.

I said from the beginning google can't conclusively prove anything. Even if he does live in New York, that doesn't mean this story is true. Notice what he's doing on the wine site btw, trying to get people to buy something so he can benefit. Just like with the Ipod thing. Starting to see a pattern here?

So he linked to an obituary from a searchable database from his state and won't give any more details that aren't in the obituary. So what? Often when people make up lies they take inspiration from events, lies often have some truth mixed in with them.

And he still has a bizarre story about how the lost knife happened. Please explain to me how a titanium clip can snap off and a knife fall down someone's pants leg without them knowing.

I'm not saying I believe the story. In fact, I find it very hard to believe that a Seb clip just snaped off in a waistband. My point was, you told us nothing more than the fact that you didn't search very thoroughly before making an argument. Like I said, if you are going to do it, do it right.

I'm more of an intuitive than a detailed oriented person.

I noticed that he's using the reef forum to sell stuff too. This is a guy who seems to use the internet almost always for selling and advertising things. From his pattern of activity it seems like he sees the internet as just a money making tool. That's how it seems to me.

Also, if I were him, and this really happened to me and people were doubting it, I'd post proof to make my accusers feel like jackasses. That would be the first thing I'd do if someone questioned me. He hasn't done that, instead he just deletes his posts and refuses to answer any questions.
