Certainly an interesting reaction!

Over 4000 visits on this thread, stone thrower jumps out - when ever there is a chance!

I will post whether here or anywhere as in regards to what pertains to my own modding involving the Insingo!

Aloha!

I try not to be a blind follower or a blind loyalist to any particular brand.

I found most negatives were from those lacking trade skills for simple mods. Or a few try to impose their will.

This particular thread had reached over 4000 counts. Majority read and moved on without leaving their foot print. A few other, which is the norm of most open forum, well........!

For me, a good knife is where I can find it.

Hype bought me to the Insingo and as for it being a good knife? Well, like a few CRK loyalist's negative opinions on my mods - IMO, it is a so so knife - passable with its low factory HRC provided. Soft steel = easy touch up for most of the CRK owner = short edge retention. There are few things I do like, however.

Took me approx. 8 hrs getting the blade to a mirror:

This, on the other hand, took close to 40 hrs., just the secondary bevel portion, for the mirror polish:

IMO, when I consider a good knife, is the sum of a totally well chosen ingredients. At half the price is a certain bonus. This is also a knife, not only for looks, but which can withstand full on flicks, to open, thousands of time, all without ill effects. It also doesn't come from the manufacturer, warning as to discourage this form of opening.

To further added my personal touch to enhance the pride of "my" ownership. Again, this is also not for everyone!

Bottom line, it is my property, I do as I please!

I leave it at that.

Aloha!

I sense a lot of negativity in this post.

You have modified a few knives, this seems like a better venue for you to share in as it is not specific to a single brand. This is a fantastic sub-forum to gain knowledge, insight, and ideas. Hopefully you enjoy it.

I know you seem partial to positive/praise of your work, but perhaps listening to some criticism will open new doors for you? Most of us freely admit that there is more to learn;)

I can only speak for myself when I say I have taken plenty of criticism over the years. When I quit fighting it, I found that sometimes I could learn from it;)

Good luck to you!

Most of your comment on many of my previous threads were personal attacks - does that sound familiar?

You can think/believe whatever you like! You don't know my back ground and who I am.

Whether I can take criticism or not, is again, not pertaining to the subject matter of my own journey on this thread:- " Saga To Highlight The "Razor" Look in the Insingo."

How many times on this thread alone, Moderator warned you "- unit -" to stop trolling?

I suppose this is you:

Please, stop spilling diarrhea from your mouth.

Let this thread stay on subject, so some can benefit from.

oh my.

Personal attacks do not sound familiar. I recall questioning why you refused to show work you claimed to do, but I dont recall personal attacks.

I have been issued no warnnings directly. As anyone can see, Karda made a post about trolling, and since that time I have only attempted to offer insight, help, and assistance so others can learn. I am looking to the future and trying to help (not looking backward).

I make no claims about who you are, nor am I searching for images of you as you seem to be doing for me. Since you ask, yes that is an image of me (from a while back).

With regard to diarrea from my mouth...I am not sure how to respond, it sounds like an attack of sorts...

With regard to staying on subject, I would be happy to....I am following your lead, sir.

This thread was moved from its original forum. Now it seems to have become a personal quarrel. Perhaps I should close it.

Lets see if it can return to the original goal.

Back onto topic. People like what they like. I actually really think this is cool. The flame handles look good and the mirror polish looks sick. I'm all for what you did. Keep enjoying it and have fun!

Victorf, can you post pics of the work you said you did to the inside of the handles? I've messaged you about this and haven't heard back. I'm curious to see what was done.

It seems you have your answer already then....

Lets put it this way:

DSCN2153_zps08c99887.jpg

Shown are few variety of elevated hardness grade ground tool bits, hand configured for their unique application, capable cutting into any CRK steel blade, without ill effects. I stored them side by side, a few touch up honing stones wedged between, basically reasonably segregated to eliminate movements, which can induce cutting edge damages. Some looked similar to an untrained eye, in its lifetime, will never be reground into different shape - it is expensive but I believe every tool has its purpose.

Actually, there are very few tools there that could cut a knife blade hardened to a level that is the norm for a good quality knife from a reputable maker such as CRK, say 58 - 60Rc. HSS is not sufficient to cut steel that hard "without ill effects." The ill effects being immediate and severe tool wear or destruction. Carbide certainly can cut it, but will also suffer for it pretty rapidly.

The knife looks nice though.

It's his knife, he can do what he wants with it. If he had reground the blade into a toothpick, then there may be grounds to say he ruined it.

He drilled some "scoops" in the handle, other people etch some designs on theirs. He anodized it. I've seen others do that. He polished the blade. Probably way more than most people would or can.

He's sharing. If some people don't like it, then they shouldn't read the thread. Plenty of other threads in BF or the even the internet.

I can appreciate the knife and the work that was put into it even though I can't use it as it's too flashy to use in my ninja work.

The sum of works done to the Insingo could have been done in a few days. But it drags on because it is something I do to fill between the gaps whenever I can.

Whats done is really nothing special. The beauty is - most people can too, if they chose to.

I posted progress is a simple way to share my joys of progression!

I will continue posting to share till I am done with this one and only CRK.

Thank you to those, who bought the main subject of the post back on line.

Aloha!

It is beautiful work and requires skill and hard work. It is your knife do with it as you please! That said, so many of the pictures I see here are of knives which almost never see the outside of a safe. If it pleases you then that is all that matters.
I truly wish I had the skills and time to accomplish the work you have done.
Thank you for sharing the pictures of your work.
