sage 5 compression lock in honor of Sal...

Some of those locks you mentioned are patented. Axial was owned by lonewolf which got bought by benchmade which also owns axis. CS has triad

I believe the "stop lock" was on the proto drawing of the military 2 i saw not para 2 military 2 uh oh we might have a new style millie coming soon...

I would like a Ti compression lock. Like the Ti Salsa from a while back
And i do agree, Sal is up there with the knivemakers the other sage models have honored

Ive read that is is already in development, but any info regarding it has not yet been disclosed.

I think a compression lock Sage would sell even faster than a Para 2. My reasoning is that it's a little smaller and therefore better for EDC. Also, it's a friggin compression lock! Who doesn't want at least one?! I'd buy at least one or two.

I read it right here on this forum from Sal. What type of lock it is etc has not yet been disclosed. All that was said is that the Sage5 is already in the works. Im not gonna find it for you, try the search button!

If or when a Sage comes along with a compression lock I could see it having stainless steel scales. It wouldn't be my first choice, but look at all of the popular Spyderco models like the Endura, Delica and Police that have had them. Another possibility would be FRN for the same reason. It just seems appropriate that a Sage with a Spyderco designed lock would use a scale material that appears on so many of their other popular models. I could go for either of these even though neither would be my first choice. Anything would be better than yet another black G10 knife though. A Sage with a compression lock would be a special knife and there's nothing special about plain black G10.

The sage 1 and 2 are hands down my favorite knives. I like the sage 2 enough I have 2 of them. A sage with a compression lock would be my perfect carry knife. Since the Ti chaparral got CTS-XHP I think a compression lock sage deserves a cool steel as well.

Comp lock sage? I might take one. Or two. Or five. I don't know how no one thought of this before.

Lots of people thought of it, but no one thinks sal will honor himself. If sal agrees to this however, I would definitely buy a couple

This may be so, and Sal may indeed have reservations about putting out a Sage with a lock he himself innovated but I feel that it should be viewed in the opposite that a compression lock Sage is what his customers want in part to honor HIM for his work. The idea of a compression lock Sage as discussed wasn't hatched by Sal, and as long as that is clear, I dont think it would ever be confused as self serving.

There are other locks out there that could end up in the Sage5 (which is already in the works), but fret not if this is the case as there plenty of numbers left :)

So far, locks have been paired with something at least resembling the handle of the original knife to have them. For the compression lock that could mean making it:

Left handed with peel-ply G-10, like the Gunting.

Right handed with smooth G-10 with sweeping grooves, to resemble the FRN of the Vesuvius.

Right handed with machined G-10, like the Lil' Temp.

Right handed titanium framelock, like the Ti ATR and Salsa

Right handed aluminum, perhaps with a sprig of sage, like the Salsa's silly chili pepper.

A compression lock Sage would be absolutely huge maybe Eric can do this in honor of his dad I don't care how you justify it that is a knife that would sell.
Dear lord no stainless scales though sage green micarta would great though
