Great idea! I went ahead and edited the title to be more inclusive! We can only hope.
There is a thread dedicated to the lambsfoot. The sheepsfoot deserves the same, I would think.
Hopefully the two bladed sheepsfoot and Marlin Spikes will be welcome, too.
Should we include stockmen and Congress and other multi blade slipjoints with sheepsfoots or just knives with them as a mainblade? We can only hope.

I would think just the main blade, to avoid rambling. Particular named patterns already have generated threads. Have re-adjusted title accordingly.Should we include stockmen and Congress and other multi blade slipjoints with sheepsfoots or just knives with them as a mainblade?
This is a definite plus. A lot of folks here in Texas carry carbon in winter and stainless in summer! Always good to have the choice.Another plus for the Otter ankermesser is the steel. I have one in carbon and one in stainless. Both of these are fantastic blades and stay very sharp.
guess I’ll have to buy some more sheepsfoot knives! I think my next will be an Anker messer and then a British Army/Navy knife.I would think just the main blade, to avoid rambling. Particular named patterns already have generated threads. Have re-adjusted title accordingly.
Attention to such high levels of detail are perhaps a good part of the reason this version has been so long lived! The anchor shield in the Otter is riveted which is a benefit over others who only glue their shields in.
Agreed! Too many great choices to pick just one....guess I’ll have to buy some more sheepsfoot knives! I think my next will be an Anker messer and then a British Army/Navy knife.
The Navy knives from Great Eastern Cutlery are made on the 15 frame. They are 3-1/2” closed length. What is the size on the Navy knife? It may be another candidate if the cost is within reason.
Many thanks! Quite good looking knives! Perhaps they will be reintroduced at some point. The Navy knives from Great Eastern Cutlery are made on the 15 frame. They are 3-1/2” closed length.
I'm looking for an Ulster No. 12 Barlow, with the Sheepsfoot main and pen secondary.guess I’ll have to buy some more sheepsfoot knives! I think my next will be an Anker messer and then a British Army/Navy knife.
yes I was surprised how well it was when I bought it whoever did the job even ground a decent swedge.A well used knife, given a new lease on life as a sheepsfoot! Nice job of it too!
