Try the Heidi Shop....I always carry an Exec...I bought a back up (in black)
there about two months ago

Hey, I just searched Amazon...twice..and NO executive came up. They have every other model but no Exec.
I have several Executives but much prefer the 74mm Money Clip. I swapped the “sand paper” file for a cut file (red knife), and it is my main nail tool. It has the only scissors in my EDC pile and can hold 23 bills. I am not too fond of the SAK scale tools, so I carry a separate toothpick and tweezers.View attachment 1896486View attachment 1896485

I notice the small blade on the 74mm, Executive is my example, is the same size as the blade on a 58mm. Are they interchangable? I have a wharncliffe Emergency blade on a Vic Classic, not SD Classic but Classic. Same thing. Will it fit just the same or is there anything I am missing?

The 93mm awl fits on an 84mm with a little work.

I was looking around at Etsy last night, and you know what nobody seems to do? Burgundy/red micarta, similar to GEC's. Wouldn't even be that far off from classic red, would look absolutely wonderful. Is there anything particularly difficult about achieving that color of micarta?

Going to try to dye some of the new nylon Floral handles - those look beautiful.
I agree with you! the GEC Red/Burgundy linen Micarta would be beautiful! It can be purchased a lot of places, it’s just not that popular. Out of the hundreds of knives I’ve built I’ve had one request for Red Micarta, Green wins by a landslide 🤷‍♂️

Everything probably does with a little work 😉 I am thinking that one option is to have some sort of washer/distans in the front to compensate for the thicker awl in he back? The other is thinning the awl from the side that meets the liner. Or as a third option, make the liner around the awl thinner…

I used a washer, check out post #22 of this thread

The washer should be on the opposite side of the awl from the scale.
Ah, so one could say that you increased the space on the owl side to make room for the tip of the main blade?
I was thinking that since the main blade in the front is thinner than the owl and spacer in the back I needed to increase the space in the front.
I guess I will try different things to see what works and looks best in the end. Now that I decided to work in G-10 I could do the spacer/washer in G-10 and sand it down to a good thickness :) How do the gaps around the spring look with a extra washer?

Quick question: can any of the back tools swap positions with each other without removing material or adding spacers? More specifically, can I move the chisel to a different layer without modifying anything?

Anybody ever try giving the tweezers a pointed tip profile ?

Maybe they're not quite robust enough for a fine pointy profile, but I've got enough of them around that I think I may go for it.

Chisel and the back SD are the only ones I can think of that require no other cutting or spacers to swap (aside from the obvious CS/Phillips swap). Almost everything else needs something done…for thickness difference or tang/backspring profile

The dolphin? I was hoping the chisel could swap with the awl, but I guess the dolphin flat head will do fine. Moving the chisel one space down should at least make it slightly more useable.
Yes, or the older ones from ‘85 and earlier without the hump.

The awl is 2mm, so only about 0.25mm thicker than the SD or Chisel.

The Swiza tweezers are ground at an angle giving you a fine tip for gripping and they function better because of it.
