Sal saves the day!

Yes, because of Sal, my wife has given her stamp of approval on Spyderco.

I'm sold. I have had a Military in my pocket every day for the past three years.

It is refreshing to see the owner of the company taking care of business.

What is the point of bumping this thread? Didn't Sal himself tell you to send it to him? Problem solved...if I missed something - my apologies - going back through thread now.

It's been there since Saturday.

What's an acceptable time frame to you?

I do realize it's right after the holidays but dang it man shoot me an update or something.

I understand that you're eager to find out the fate of your knife, but if it's been there since Saturday, it's essentially been there for 3 business days. I would also be willing to assume that the owner of a company such as Spyderco is a busy person.

Your right for the most part, I will be more patient.

Your wrong about the "if it's been there since Saturday" part.

It ain't no if's here cuz.

Hello Ryan,
Please give Sal a little time. I've had to wait much longer dealing with custom makers and they don't even come online and interact openly. Sal is a stand up guy and it's just the first week of the year. I've only dealt with Sal personally once, a long time ago when I was new on these forums, I think maybe 15 years ago or something - he helped me out and handpicked a Spydie Lum Chinese that satisfied me, and even penned a personal note. I wish I kept that note, but I've lost it moving house.

I hope this works out to everyone's satisfaction and I'm sure Sal will chime in soon.

A little late, but happy new year to everyone on the Spydie forums.

Glad to hear that.

Hope you and yours have had a wonderful Christmas and New Year.

Just when I thought you were on the right track, you go sour again. Give it some time man! Sometimes I am glad I am not a business owner.

Been dealing with this crap since December 4th.

The door is-------------------> that way.

Buzz off.

Relax already, being continually rude and replying to every comment is not going to make the situation any better.

Hi Ryan,

I received your knife yesterday. It seems your lack of patience is exceeded only by your rudeness. We have replaced your knife, but in my investigation, every single area you touched; face book, customer service, our forum, etc. indicated that you are / were a butt hole in your dealings with us. Please enjoy your new knife and should you decide to deal with Spyderco again, please learn some manners or go elsewhere. Your kind understanding and cooperation is appreciated.

Maybe a little clarification might be in order.

This is SpyderCo on Saturday...

This is the lobby desk...

And just to the left of that desk is the Public SpyderCo Outlet Store. Note the little Red Sign ?

No when the mail arrives, Mr Postman rolls his cart right past that unmanned reception desk into the store and one of the store personnel signs for it on his little electronic pad. Same for UPS, same for Fed Ex, same for DHL, etc. Then the package is set in the received bin and Monday when the factory opens, when the office opens, someone in receiving opens your package, reads your note, and the knife is passed on to the appropriate person. Kind of like any other manufacturing factory.
It's a nice romantic notion that Sal is hunched over a workbench, anvil, and vice like one of Santa's elves just waiting for a knife to come through the front door. And even though Mr Glesser is a great guy, any knife with a problem will most likely be in the custody of one of the master smith's employed there to determine how best to satisfy your issue, not necessarily Sal himself. I'm sure they will take care of all your needs but they may not do it in 24 business hours.

Well look at you Ryan, got a brand new knife, and lost an incredible opportunity to beco...... well it doesn't matter now, does it? Maybe you should consider becoming a loyal customer of some other knife brand (??) You're very much like the little puppy who poops in the dining room and instead of getting a swat with the newspaper, you get a treat. Ten to one says you'll make that mess again. Enjoy your knife.

It was clearly a smear campaign-he joined in December and participated in no other discussion than this one that he started against Spyderco's customer service.

Maybe I'll start one on the BMW forums about shoddy German manufacturing. ;)
