Anybody had experience with this vendor? I e-mailed them about 2 days ago to ask a question after placing an order but they have yet to respond. Most online vendors sends emails once for order confirmation and another when product is shipped but I only got a order confirmation email. I'm concerned because the knife I ordered is now not in stock and I wanted to make sure it was shipped. Been only a week since I placed my order so I'm not too concerned yet but just wondering how reliable is this vendor since they haven't responded to my email.

As far as I know, Savson's is down. I ordered, got confirmation email, no knife, but I wasn't charged. It's been over a month, no contact despite multiple emails.

I ordered from new graham and am happy!

. . . .and type in Savson in the "Search by Key Word" block.

Some had good experiences, but the bad feedback seems to outweigh the good.

In the future, I highly suggest you do a search before pulling the trigger.

Hope it all works out for you.

I ordered an Al Mar Ultralight from them about 3 weeks ago, and I received it in a week with no problem. However, thier service does seem to be taking a turn for the worse.

I originally tried to do as you suggested but I must have been doing my search in the wrong area because I kept getting blanks.

I have ordered from Savson a couple times and finally decided it wasn't worth the hassel .... deliveries alway took a long time and the response was always that the package must be lost in transit...yeah, right. Oh, and I often received the wrong knife...finally gave up on them.

There are certainly better vendors to buy from than Savson --

:)

My credit card got charged the day after I placed my order. I sent multiple e-mails and still got no response and still no knife. My knife was supposedly sent via USPS priority mail, which has never taken more then 5 days to arrive in Hawaii from anywhere in the U.S. Packages usually arrives within 3 days.
And I always get a tracking number when ordering stuff sent with priority mail but request for a tracking number has gone unanswered. I will wait a few more days to get my knife or at least a response from Savson before looking into reporting them to the proper aurthorities for fraud. I have looked into it but if anybody knows exactly who I should contact, let me know.

So far no response. I checked Savson's store rating and his 4 and 1/2 star rating is decieving. Almost all of his reviews are positive and he got 5 stars from almost all of his customers up until about 8 months ago. Even on this forum, he got mostly positive reviews until about the same time. Then things started changing and he got more and more negative reviews and 1 star ratings. And his store ratings are strange because he almost always either got 5 stars and praise for fast shipping and great customer service or 1 star and complaints of unresponsiveness and no shipping. And his 1 star ratings are increasing.
I think he should look into investigating his recent hires. One or more of his employees may be ripping off him and some of his customers.

moiman, I get the impression from talking with Randy that Savson is a one-man show, and I don't think it is his primary business. Also, he informed me last month that the phones were not being reconnected - "We used to be a phone based site but have gone to web only site."

I have ordered from Randy in the past and always had prompt, excellent service. I placed an order about three weeks ago, after e-mail contact that the items were in stock and ready to ship, and have heard nothing since--no confirmation, no answer to multiple e-mails, and (thankfully) no charge to my card.

I think Randy tries hard to keep his customers happy, and it seems he has been going through a lot the past few months - construction, surgery, 'family business', etc. - so it is my hope he can get things back together and we all come out happy.

Shu; I guess he took advantage of me because I'm a new customer and he charged my credit card the day after I placed my order. X emails has also gone unanswered. At least you have the opportunity to cancell your order without losing out anyhting. Me, I'm stuck because I don't have any opportunity to cancell my order. What am I supposed to do? Wait for a knife that may never arrive? Order from someone else and end up with 2 knives? Maybe even months from now? And what the hell is that? Answer emails before you order and ignore you after?
If he is having problems conducting his business because of personal or other problems he should not be accepting orders and he certainly should not be charging his customers credit cards if cannot fullfill his obligations. I have asked Yahoo shopping to check into the matter. Next step will be to contact the NFIC and law enforcement. Don't expect me to be understanding about someone who rips me off.

Contact your credit card company and initiate a chargeback.

I will initiate a charge back when the time comes. But I will do my utmost to prevent at least some people from going through my experience. The thing that gets me is he doesn't even answer any of my emails and he does the same to others. He doesn't even give me the courtesy of sending me the tracking # so I can find out what happened to my knife and make a claim if I have to. I've send polite emails and got no response and emails that expressed my displeasure and still no response.
From reading reviews on this forum and on Yahoo shopping he has many very unhappy customers. I guess he can stay in business because of dummies like me who only looked at the overall rating and not at the individual reviews:mad:

I went through the same ordeal, of him not answering e-mails after him answering my first e-mail. I finally got a response from him by switching to another e-mail account and sending him a question of why he wasn't answering my e-mails. His response was that my other e-mails were going into his junk mail folder.

I don't know if that's true or not, but it's worth a try. Try contacting him with another email account.

So in other words, if you are a customer and paid him money and he has sent you a confirmation email, he will block you from contacting him?

I have ordered from Savson twice. First time, delivery came quick with no problems, and the second time it took like 4 days for the knives to just leave the warehouse. Overall no major problems here, though.
