You're doing a good job Ash -- as is the rest of the committee.

I'll add my kudos. If everyone could have exactly what they want, we'd be ordering custom knives at $400 a pop minimum. The pattern run off poll was followed by the number of blade poll, because of the number of those wanting two blades. Two blades were chosen by the masses. The scale poll is running towards micarta. It's all been very democratic folks. No hidden agendas here and the comittee is working their tails off to get this done.

If you really don't like the pattern that ends up being "the one", no one is forcing you to buy it. We've asked that only those interested in purchasing vote, with the full knowledge that some will not like what's chosen and not buy. We were trying to avoid posts from those with no intention of buying. Maybe next years will suit you better. We hope that, after all the hard work that's been done, we have enough folks commit that we can get a manufacturer interested in making the knife.

The hard core knife nuts and forum lovers, will jump on whatever is chosen. I hope there's enough of us.

Thanks again 2012 committee!

I think the poll system is just splendid. I'm getting a chance to vote for the things I would like see on this years knife. Some things have gone my way others not so much. No mater how it polls out, I'm sure it will be an excellent piece.

Peregrin, you've summed it up nicely. This is a chance to be part of making a knife that we at BF can call our own. A chance to be part of something unique and different and be able to purchase a traditional knife that some of us wouldn't have purchased otherwise. Thanks to the 2012 team for all their hard work so far and even more to come.

I venture to say a lanyard hole and locking blade is not an option.

Whatever is chosen, I'm in for a couple just cuz I love knives and the Traditional forum.

Everyone should remember that this is supposed to be a fun process. it's not the end of the world if things don't go your way. It's a community effort and it's supposed to be fun!

I voted for bone, i feel like it would go well with this knife. But I wouldn't be opposed to some of the other choices.

I would like to make a donation to these forum knives if it is deemed appropriate?..i will send over enough material to slab 10? knives...this is my personal stag that i have harvested and each one has a unique story..i personally think trappers should be stag slabbed

...the stag that i will send ,will be more (gnarly) than the stag in the pic...i hope this meets your approval......FES

This is very generous and great idea, if you have enough of this quality I think this should go into consideration.

I have enough of better quality than is in pic for 10 knives....i would be honoured to have traditionalists on the other side of the world to have some.......FES

How 'bout the other side of the Tasman? You know, the West Island . That is choice broo.

woah! looks like bone is making a late run.

I voted ramshorn, simply because I don't have a knife in that material. But, as always, I'll be buying whatever is chosen.

I'm alright with micarta but I do hope it's not paper, those look incredibly boring in my opinion.

Fester, that is an EXTREMELY generous offer, and I'm sure everyone here appreciates it (expect a lot of thank you posts and PMs), but unfortunately, this run will be for 150-180 or so knives. If we had only 10 of those knives handled with that ridiculously beautiful stag (reminds me of Alaskan king crab legs), I think blood would be shed in the ensuing riot.
