I’ve been very impressed with the Basic SDFK!!! Thanks for the great work Nathan and Jo! I am fortunate enough to own the signature also, and Love it as well! Just more drawn to the Basic!! Thanks for making such great knives for us! I feel pretty lucky!!!

Anyone with both the basic and Sig Series notice a difference in cutting with the slight S grind vs standard flat? If I recall other than the swedge that was the only discrepancy between the two (and skeletonized tang*)

Not sure I NEED the swedge but the primary grind difference would be good to know how it differs in the field.

Nathan the Machinist Nathan the Machinist is the standard close enough to the old HDFK or worth waiting on a SS?

IIRC, the main purpose/benefit of the S-grind is not binding when chopping, and aiding in popping the chips from the cut.
