Thanks, Dylan, yours is too, and that rugged stag #86 is also drool-worthy! Birch bark is definitely an under-used material, especially in the US.

Stacked bamboo makes a really interesting fly rod reel seat and might make pretty cool covers. Maybe it’s been done but I haven’t seen it. Has anyone seen a knife made with stacked bamboo?
I have not but I understand that some folks in Arizona are familiar with its wide range of uses. 😉🤪

Some of the best money I ever spent:)
I say this every time I renew.

Honestly. I spend so much time learning, have gained so much knowledge...made connections with friends, knife makers, leather stitchers, master smith's, garage hobbiests..etc...

Friends arround the world.

The gold price is like going to the movie and getting a drink and popcorn.....but hardly a day goes by where I don't check in, and look at what people are making, selling, etc, etc.

I have birch bark on a Russian fixed blade. Very light, very comfortable, very good looking.

I'll bet a single coat of polyurethane would soak in, be unnamable, and protect that from dirt and keep it as nice looking as it it. Great creativity!

The bark from birch seems to be work well for handles.

I iimagine bark from different tree species would work better or worse. For hemlock i imagine it to be akin to the pine trees we had in virginia. Large chunks of flakey tree bark. If you could compress it enough it could possibly work stacked. Probably wouldnt be very attractive. No where near as attractive as that stacked birch bark.

I keep being surprised this thread is still going on. The order thread has already came and gone last week yet weve still got people posting in here.

Its a fun thread at least.

(a reminder, dont forget to check your email to confirm your order otherwise, your knife will move on to the next in line.)

I have been following and requested "in" a while back in the discussion thread. I still do not see an order thread, Is it still live? My wife and I have started working "in the office" again and time has been short. Any info would be appreciated, thank you

I must have missed this. Was there a recent order confirmation thread?
