Share a Whittler Pic

Wow. Neat knife, sunburst. Are the scales celluloid or a look-alike?

Dean

Hi Dean,

The seller told me they are not celluloid, it's a look alike material with a name that evades me at the moment..:( I am trying not to purchase anything with celluloid in the handles, It's something I just don't want to have to worry about..I like this FR whittler and might just try to get another one..

Thanks for the compliment..

Sunburst..

Hey Kevin that's a very nice whittler and a nice choice for your first purchase of the model..Thanks for the generous offer of the cigar boxes as well, I don't have a fancy display case either but what I have at the moment seems to be working.

Thanks to a recent trade, I've finally got a whittler I can show off. Here is a C.Tenney Trading Co (a queen brand) half whittler that Muskrat Man put desert ironwood burl handles on. I hope he doesn't mind me using his pic of it, I can't seem to get a good one myself.

After drooling over all these whittlers I see why I like them so much, here is a 70's redbone I recently aquired from waynorth.

And an 1800's elephant ivory I-XL I got from waynorth as well

I just ordered the (A) Cattaraugus® Two Blade Whittler from A. G. Russell. Looks like a real nice EDC. The blades are 14-4CrMO Stainless Tool Steel at 60-62 Rc from Timken Latrobe. I'm curious to see how they perform. Canal Street Cutlery is the maker. The pic is from the A G Russell website.

I have yet to see an ugly knife from the Bose Boys!! They sure make nice stuff!!!

I agree with waynorth. That latest Anglo Saxon Whittler is fantastic. Love the style of that one including that long nail nick.

Sunburst that is an interesting set of pearl whittlers. The main blades almost look like melon testers (Melon Whittlers). When were they made?

I turned up a chance to get a Parker stag Saxon Whittler the other day, now after seeing that beauty I wonder if I made a mistake...Nice knife..

Hello SK the pictures do not show the luster of the pearl but I always have a hard time trying to photogragh pearl...My understanding is this set is a numbered limited edition of 500 that was made in the early 80's. I would like to research them better and find out a little more..It does remind me of a melon tester/citrus knife also, thanks for asking...

I don't get a chance to shoot many of Reese's knives before they go to a customer. This one is going to the Blade Show. This is really an amazing knife to handle.

Kerry that Bose is stunning. Can anyone tell me a little bit about this knife posted earlier. It sure is a beautiful Winchester!!!

I was carrying that Winchester last summer, and I gave it the name "Cadilac",

Great looking whittlers everyone. Here is my latest... MOP William Rodgers and Cut MY Way. There was a William Rodgers back in the early-mid 1800s but the name and trademark were acquired by John Clarke & Son in the 1850s. Looks almost 'new' except for a little corrosion on the top of the master blade. Not sure how old this one is.

Just picked this up from Sooner State Knives, 1 of 25 even nicer in real life.
