Sharpest new knife you ever purchased?

A SHUN Chinese Chef's knife -- model #DM-0712 w/ VG-10 core and 32-layer Damascus:

Some of the Moras come in a close second!

My konosukes came very sharp, even though they are basically not ground all the way, they expect you to finish the blade.

But still sharper than any folder I've bought.

The sharpest production knife I have every purchased was actually a CRKT believe it or not. The darn thing was so scary sharp that It would cut you and you wouldnt even know it until you were wondering where all the red was coming from. It was unbelievable. The sharpest knife I have ever had was actually a custom balibalistic balisong. It was nearly a zero edge. I was scared to flip the thing because if you made a mistake I have no doubt a well placed flub would cost you a finger. Sad thing is the dullest knives I have had have all been customs which baffles me.

Southern Grind Bad Monkey hands down. I've cut myself more with this knife than I think I ever have before in my life. It was bad before, but with the recent addition of an Edge Pro Apex with the Shapton stones now it is downright scary. I love it.

Spydercos IME do the best job of shipping sharp knives. My ZDP Stretch came scalpel sharp.

My only serrated folder in my collection a Pacific Salt came the sharpest, I was quite amazed. The separate serrations can split hairs.

My benchmade 551 grip was my sharpest along with my ka-bar doizer, and the blade on my leatherman sidekick were the sharpest hair poping ones. I just got a cs mini tuff light in from winning a conest it feels sharp but havent tried it to give you a honest answer.

My spyderco southard. I went to close it and didn't get my thumb out if the way. Didn't feel it cut at all. Noticed blood dripping out of my hand a few minutes later.

Production: Tie between Marbles and Microtech.
Custom: Jason Knight or Shiva Ki.

I bought a Böker Vox Rold today, and it came with a nice even and very sharp edge. Sharper than I can get D2 steel :grumpy:

My ontario rat 1 was ridiculously sharp out of the box and that was before I could put a face shaving edge on a knife so the sharpness was unreal to me at the time. Thats just another factory edge compared to the sharpness level I am accustomed to now but thats still impressive how it bead all the spydercos, zt's, bm's and other, nicer knives' factory edges.
