Sharpest new knife you ever purchased?

My Paramilitary came today, and it was the sharpest knife I have ever tried. One pass down my arm, and the blade was covered in hair. Not just a few hairs here and there, but everything it touched. I hope I can get it back to that sharpness myself, when it needs it. On the other hand my Izula II and Mora Companion were only so-so. Not a disapointment, just a challenge for the Sharpmaker!

Kershaw DoubleCross had the sharpest factory edge I've gotten on any knife.

I have the Wild Turkey with the same damascus clad VG1 steel blade and it also came very sharp for a factory edge. I think the thin blade and grind have a lot to do with how sharp it is.

Would have to say my Kershaw Alaskan blade trader, it came extremely sharp out of the box, and my Mora 511 would be a close second.

sharpest knives I have ever owned are all zero ground, no secondary bevel. The top honors goes to a custom that was made by Pat Crawford. This was a hollow ground chisel with zero bevel. Second sharpest is the convex zero grind on a BlackJack Model 5.

Zero ground blades are the sharpest and most aggressive cutters, imo. Maintaining them is the problem.

Spyderco Delica 4 FFG has been the sharpest I've seen out of the box, cut myself with that one pretty good, lol.

I'm going to have to say a Spyderco as well! I got a Caly 3.5 that was hair whittling sharp right out of the box!

Emerson CQC7
Was not a fan and sold it within a week, but the thing was sharp enough to shave with!

My sharpest was actually a Swamp Rat Ratmandu that I immediately ruined a leather sheath with. I only have one Spyderco, but I got it second hand and it was pretty dull. I was disappointed with my Helle Alderman, It was hardly sharp enough to spread butter. I've heard that they are supposed to be scary sharp. It also had a mirror finish on a scandi grind, so it's still dull as I'm afraid I'll ruin the finish to put an edge on it.

Flip a coin between my Mora and Delica4. I was very impressed with how sharp my first Spyderco was.

Victorinox 3 1/4 paring knife, sharper than any knife I got out of the box. Yup a cheap $4 kitchen knife has been the sharpest factory knife I've ever held or owned. I was surprised to say the least.
