Sharpest new knife you ever purchased?

Jody Samson balisong, if that can be considered a production knife, otherwise it would be my M390 710

I'd say it's a match between my spyderco Breeden rescue or my S90V Manix2 XL, but both were easily improved with someone time on the EP. I've pretty much stopped caring about factory edges. None have been good enough for me.

Probably a William Henry for me. I have a couple and all were very sharp from the factory.

Moras are always very sharp out of the box, but I think Helle knives come sharper yet. My Dad brought me back a helle from his trip to Norway, it could shave hair off a gnats ass...

Kershaw Lahar. Got it second hand, so I don't know if it is the factory edge, but man that vg10 can take a scary edge.

If you see the knife, dont tell it i was talking about it, I'm a little afraid of it.

I've had a few...

Production:
Kershaw Boa (original in 440V)
Global Knives yanagiba (zero chisel grind) Its a whole lot of very sharp steel.

Customs:
Gravelle FK-SM in 3V - hair splitting sharp and my first knife to be that sharp
J Rosa in S90V also hair splitting sharp... I since refined the edge and now I can't split hairs with it, they just cut through while trying to slice the hair, easily the sharpest knife I own and one of the best for edge retention.

Spydercos IME do the best job of shipping sharp knives. My ZDP Stretch came scalpel sharp.
Working with scalpels like I do, I would be upset if a new knife was only scalpel sharp. Contrary to popular belief, they aren't as sharp as you think, and they don't stay sharp for long (they're made to only cut a few times before they're thrown away). I've had new scalpels that wouldn't even shave arm hair - but they'll slice skin/tissue really well for a few cuts.

it could shave hair off a gnats ass...
How do you examine a gnat's behind to tell if it even has hair on it??

Something Bulgarian, a Manly in D2

And yes, I have a couple of spydercos. The delica ffg in zdp-189 came quite sharp as well.

Either my Kershaw leek or my Knives of Alaska Bush Camp. Seriously sharp, just cut myself so bad cleaning it yesterday I'm still kinda wondering if I should go to the hospital :/

For folders it would have to be a Robeson toothpick I happened to pick up from Smoky Mountain right before they went off air. I used that knife to wrap Christmas presents with last year never picked up a scissors once. And for fixed blades it would have to be my BlackJack Classic Blades skinner model...that convex edge is a thing of beauty when it comes to sharpness.
***Update***
Well folks, I was wrong. the sharpest fixed blade now is a different BlackJack I got from an older gentleman at a local gun show. Said he bought it back in '94...model is a Trail Guide and it has a gorgeous Chestnut handle, and nickel silver hardware and 52100 steel. He must've wiped it down with Vaseline or something and just put it away. When I tried to wipe off whatever that stuff was, it cut through the towel I was using and 3 fingers on my left hand.

Gareth bull Warlock, it has a full flat grind with an extremely thin edge behind the bevel... a real slicer!
