I have been thinking of trying out the Fitjar soaps, what do you think of them and is there any other soaps that you would consider comparable?

It is definitely a top of the line shaving cream. It's easy to build a creamy lather with good cushion and glide and it stays wet for the whole shave and has good moisturizing. I haven't used that many premium shaving creams but it is much better than Bigelow, and Vitus. Great scent (Norwegian Fern) and well worth the price.

Thanks, the blade needs a little more work to really be sharp enough but it wasn't an unpleasant shave at all.

After a week of laziness I broke down and shaved today. Well I haven't been completely lazy, just had a fair amount going on and being that I don't have to shave I just put it off.
Razor: Gillette Red Tip
Blade: IP Red
Soap: L'Occitane Cade
Brush: Re-knotted Omega 005 (Silvertip)
Pre shave: long hot shower
Aftershave: Old Spice Classic
The Red Tip left me silky smooth in 3 passes today, pretty good considering the growth I had. If I had tried that with a multi-bladed razor I would have gone through a couple of cartridges because tey would have clogged to the point of not being able to unclog them.
I also broke down and bought a New Improved today after close to a year of trying to find one in the wild. In a couple of weeks I wont have to feel razor envy of Mark's every time he shaves with it. I may have paid a bit too much for it, but after looking for as long as I did and not finding one in the wild the price was worth it to me.
