Average or mean? Average, I would guess is around $70 as I buy a fair number of inexpensive knives to gift or try X, Y or Z feature. Mean is probably more like $125, as my personal carry knives mostly range from $70 to $175 with a couple outliers. On average what do you guys spend on a knife? the folder is supposed to come out in Feb... i cannot wait... also about that "other"folder expat knives (through esee) has some new interesting folders you might wanna check out
The Knife News website has a great quick pass on the new 2018 stuff.I don't know about the average. The least I spent on a knife last year was probably $30. The most I spent was $700.
The best place to see it that I have found is a video on Knife News' Shot 2018 coverage page. It's on the bottom of page 17 as I type this.

I liked the blade, feels like the mini grip sheepsfoot. I'm more interested if these knives will flip better received than the previous attempts at flipper/compression lock knivesSmock - most interesting knife of their lineup this far but S30V and a fugly blade kinda kill it. But maybe I'll still give it a shot
KC just released a video from their time at kizer's booth, and it shows you a very close view of the stock. In my opinion, it is thick (but then again, putting my calipers on the screen wouldnt give me an accurate assessment haha)My only fear is that the blade stock will be too thick.
Now that the mini freek and volt are available for 154cm griptilian-ish prices, I now have 5 better benchmade starter recommendations along with the full size knives and the bugoutLots of knife videos getting posted this afternoon.
I so like the contrasting handle inserts Benchmade is using on some of the 2018 lineup.
The "Mini Freak" looks to be solid user.

I haven't tried the Sliverax precisely because of the poor reviews but I believe that the criticism is that the knife doesn't close well because the flipper tab strike the fingers while closing and pinching the compression liner. The button moves your finger out of the way and should solve this issue. (The custom Smock which flips great.) Alongside Spyderco's improved bearing mechanism, I have high hopes for this knife.I liked the blade, feels like the mini grip sheepsfoot. I'm sure you've seen it by now, but most of what you asked for will available in one of the 110's (I think it's an anniversary, might be wrong). I'm excited to see the auto version because apparently, I live in a state where they're legal (but I don't think that I will ever add one to my knife rotation). Buck doesn't frill my feathers, but they are the company that I respect the most.I'm still waiting for the following knife from Buck: 110 with an S30V blade, thumb stud, skeletonized frame, aluminum or titanium bolsters, G-10 scales and a pocket clip. Every year or so they put out a 110 that has some of those. It's time to put them all together into one knife.
For me the buck stops at $200, for my brothers it would be $60, my sister's boyfriend I think it's not even $50, he's a kershaw user and I'll try to get him one of the newer models for graduation, maybe show him what d2 can do depending on the price of it. (I don't think he's ready to see m390 just yet haha)On average what do you guys spend on a knife? A lot of meh and so on about 2018 product. I'm just curious what the average budget is.
You got the name right, for me this line is very well made, but the TRE is more appealing to me, and I am more excited to see what they do with their fixed blades this yearI am going to look at the Lionsteel SR22 (the downsized version). (I might have the model # wrong.)
Yup! Crazy.Up is down and left is right
Has anyone else noticed the Southern Grind Case collaborations? A. Up is down and left is right and there are now 2 Case branded ti framelock flippers. B. I kinda like the Quill.
I'm also watching their fixed blades. Don't believe anything was announced at SHOT. In a way it's kind of ridiculous for me.... watching, I have so many I don't use now.You got the name right, for me this line is very well made, but the TRE is more appealing to me, and I am more excited to see what they do with their fixed blades this year
Knifenews has some brief videos on them in their news feed section.Do you know where I can find info on these collabs? I was looking this morning but turned up moot.

Absolutely! That's what I get for posting before waking up.Isn't average the same as mean? I think the term you were searching is "median."
