Show me your custom camp knife/chopper.

Holey Schnikeys!!! Now that's a cleaver!!!

Is that blade forged or machined?
Stock removal, A-2 58-60 Rc. It's .3125 thick 3" wide 12" long weight 2 pounds. The bevel is hollow ground to .125 behind the convex edge. I used a mill for the grooves.
Gabe,
This one is coated with O.D. green Gunkote.

Whoever made it; it's a badass knife, that's for sure. :)

bld522, love that Patton blade. He makes some awesome camp knives.
This is one I finished up last week. A customer designed collabration. It's 14" overall with an 8 1/2" blade, 5/16" thick by 3" at the widest part of the blade. A2 steel.

made by me from 5160 edge quenched to around 60 rc spine to around mid to low 50's

this was a project that started out with a left over piece of steel so i could not do a full tang on this one

Very nice Chris, I like the shape of the guard and spacers. What is the inlay in the sheath?

Chris

thanks Chris, i am really glad you like it.
this is the first knife of this type or honestly an s-guard of any type, and i am pretty happy with it too. The inlay on the sheath is a single layer of 2k Twill Carbon fiber laid up with West Systems epoxy. it really adds stiffness to the sheath.
thanks!

Chris, I thought it was Cf. I like it.

Thanks, Allen. Did you end up with some good pictures from the shop visit in Mountain View?

Quite a few from the cutting comp turned out and there are some other good ones as well. I'm trying to write up a bit about it and once that is done I'll get them on the net.

Very nice! There were some great camp/choppers there. I learned from the event and understand edge geometry better now.
