I have many awesome choppers and really need to get off my butt and do some photography. NOW, the real point of this post. ALL of my knives are users, I don't collect pretty knives to stare at and store. From the amazing knives everyone is posting here, what percentage are users? I would love to see pictures of the super top end stuff stuck in logs and covered with gunk! Is that gonna happen?

Not everybody has a money to stuck $3000 or more thousand dollar knife in to the log! So the only way for us to poses the knife is to buy the knife as investment and that is that! If i had 6figurs on my debit account i would surely chop whit my Hibbens knives or open a can with ddr but i don't. Also keep in mind that for some knives there is waiting list over 10years than it is not only about the money but also the time investment !

Point taken, but of course in my opinion, spending $3000 on an "investment" knife is a complete waste of money. Just different philosophies. To me knives are tools, sometimes pretty tools, but still tools. The knife maker made it to be used and used hard. I believe they are more beautiful the more used they appear. Safe queens are like a Super Model who is still a virgin and wants to stay that way even after marriage. Dig it Sengvin? I say if you want to collect and look at it forever without ever cutting with it, more power to you, but for me, that is just not my style, and from what I have seen not the style of many here.

That's mine favorite one. Custom made kukri by Matei Campan-Romania. O2 steel, buxus wood. The bolster was made by forging iron. Hope you like it.

and a little movie made by Matei. The blade was covered with tape for not scratching it.

This one is my favorite chopper I have made to date. Its forged leaf spring (5160). Little over 1/4" thick, 2" at its widest and 16" long.
