Show me your custom camp knife/chopper.

I also have a nice Koster Survivor for chopping shores.

I'm eagerly awaiting a custom chopper from Jeremy Horton -- a "Camp 2.":D:thumbup:

Heres my amatuerish chopper. Its a little thiner than I'd actually like, but I didn't have any thicker barstock wide enough. All well, beggers can't be choosers, but it still chops pretty well.

And here is another, smaller chopper. The only thing wrong with it is I made the stupid mistake of using a belt sander to put the edge on the tip and lost the temper from overheating. :grumpy: Still chops pretty good for its size though if you ask me.

Large 52100 Amboyna handled camp knife built by Burt Foster

The blade is 12.5" long and the overal is 17.25". The blade is just over 1/4" thick at the ricasso. The tang is very tapered- - almost to nothing and the blade has a nice, straight distal taper. It balances about 1.5" in front of the bolster, which is perfect. It feels very light, yet has enough forward weight to be a very good chopper. In fact, it balances at the exact same place as my competition knife, even though the blade is 2.5" longer.
The Harvester is another large W2 Koa handled camp knife built by Chuck Richards

The blade is 12.625" long 1.625 wide approx .25 thick at the ricasso. Nice hamon with good activity. The spine is currently as forged (in a rough state). I leave these like this some times to show it was actually forged. The handle is 5.5". Overall is just over 18", Now this is a BIG KNIFE.
Others are large HI Khukuris and locally made Goloks  Sorry, no pictures bacause I don't have a camera :o

Well, I feel a bit sheepish putting this up, after seeing all them fancy knives...

But, this is the knife Bill Siegle made for me, and I really quite like it...

Necromancy this excellent thread.

Here's one that just got shipped today. I have to admit this damn thread made me commission it.

This guy was made by our very own Charlie Edmondson.
Thanks bud!

mohd - I'm pretty sure that's the largest Foster camp knife I've seen. Awesome piece.

Here is one of my favorites. Some 9260, 416, and old tires. Overall right at 15 inches and the lanyard attaches to the end of the tang.

MMHW Ted makes a heavy D knife here is a bowie but I have another bigger one without a sharpened clip and not so pointy which he calls a survival bowie. I keep it in my Hum Vee

Ted makes some nice stuff. I bought this from him (those are 1" squares):

I sent it to John Gonzalez, his partner/collaborator for a rehandle job. He sharpened the clip while it was visiting:

Unfortunetly, this knife chopped horribly as delivered. Good thing I have friends with belt sanders! :D
It's a BEAST!
