Thanks Amos!

And thanks for showing me the direction to this knife waynorth!
I don't think I'll need to cut my nails for some time. They're all broken off. :D

I came across this in the last few minutes of an auction on ebay with this recent thread still lurking in the back of my mind. So weakness took me and I made a last minute bid. I haven't even paid for it yet and I'm here showing it off. Obviously the pic is from the auction.

A Remington Moose called, The Lumberjack, from 1997.

I'm not usually big on wood handles, but the cocobolo on this just seemed to really fit the knife.

Gaaaaahhh!!!!
That's one of the very ones I've been trying to get hold of for sooo long over here (in Europe)!! Without success!!!!
And you just go down to the store and pick it up for $29!! :grumpy:
This - is - NOT - fair!!!!

Well, all I can say is: I envy you Gramps. Loads!! To be able to find and pick up goodies like that with such ease is surely a privilege I wish I could enjoy.
Nice catch!!! :D

Karl, I don't know if you're aware of this ebay auction (which I'm not affiliated with):

http://cgi.ebay.com/CAMILLUS-CLASSIC-CARTRIDGE-30-30-Winchester_W0QQitemZ260018710227QQihZ016QQcategoryZ63793QQrdZ1QQssPageNameZWD1VQQcmdZViewItem

Seller has several of the CCC-2 Moose pattern with 30-30 inert cartridge shield for $50, and he ships to Europe.

Regards,

Jim

I like wood handles! They feel warmer to the hand, a good winter carry! Nice knife, AIW!

Amos:
Look into my eyes...
You feel sleepy...
You are now in a deep sleep...
You will do as I command you...
You will wake up when I say the magic words, "Absolute Vodka"...
When again awake, you will not remember anything that happened during your sleep...

Now, I command you: You will give me a very good offer to buy this knife!!!

I will now utter the magic words, and you will wake up: "Absolute Vodka".

Hi Amos,
Is there anything you wanted to tell me?

Good threads never die, they just linger 'til someone unearths them and gives them a shove! Besides, Greg can't have ALL the Cripple Creeks, it just ain't fair!!
I put my name on the waiting list for one of these at KnifeWorld, some time ago, and one finally showed up at $125. I figured it was about right (opinions?) so here she be!

MAN!!!!!!!
That is a BEAUT!!!
Me jealous...??????
Why, you bet I am!!

Waynorth, that's pretty damn close to The Knife for me.
What size is it?

/ Karl

It's 4" long Karl. The bone is actually darker than it looks in the picture. It's a big hefty knife!

Good score, Charlie! I was going to say that it had a real vintage look to it. I then realized that a knife marked 1987 would be vintage to some folks. Took me a moment to contemplate that. That knife really does look like something from 40-50 years ago. The long, rounded look seems like it would carry about as well as a hefty knife would carry. While I can't, yet, speak from personal experience, everything I've heard about Cripple Creek would indicate that the pleasure of just holding, opening, and closing it would be great.

Well, 4" makes it a bit too big for my ideal edc pocket-carry.
That's about 3 5/8" to 3 3/4" for me.
On the other hand, in a jeans pocket... :D

Phew, for a while I was scared to have found The Knife!
Now I can continue The Quest and still use it as an excuse to get more knives.

Couldn't let this thread whither away and die...

This was bought as a small stockman two blade. Looks more like a moose to me, which makes it my smallest moose (the scale's in millimeters).
Cheap and dirty.
Winchester stainless. No idea which steel that would be.
The kick is really too big on both of the blades, particularly on the clip. Clearly stealing too much of what could, and should, have been cutting edge. Something I really, truly disapprove of.
The knife came with quite a blade play, so I had to give it a couple of whacks to make it nice and tight.
This tiny little fellow rides completely unnoticed in ones trousers pocket.
