Show off your 15's

That striped ebony is some of the prettiest iv seen!! Beautiful knife:D

Thanks hunter, I was fortunate to get this off the exchange from 2Dead, aka Trand:thumbup:

I think this still counts as a 15. Got this one from Evan a while ago. He did a great job on this one. Fit is pretty much perfect. The bolster and scales literally look like they're one piece. It's gonna be a permanent fixture in the carry rotation.

Pardon the poor lighting and the dirty table :o

I just got my second ever GEC #15 in the mail on Friday from Collectorknives.net, the Boy's Knife in Antique Yellow Bone with Clip and Pen. I am ripping off the image from knifeswapper's site, but I figured it was OK since I appear to have received this exact knife from him, so this is actually a picture of my knife. I've compared the jigging and coloration in detail, and this is the one I have.

Below is first one, the spear point and pen in Rust Red jigged bone, shown with the 2013 Forum knife since I don't have a good solo pic of it:

These really are superb knives, in whatever blade combination or handle materials you choose.

They did a real good job on the jigging, too. A lot of the time it's just for looks, but on that one the edges of each cut are crisp enough to where you really get a good grippy feel to it. Not sharp or unfinished, but crisp. And the walk and talk on that one is just about perfection. The springs are strong but not nail-breakers. Good snap in all three positions, with just the right amount of resistance at each stage of opening and closing. Both nail nicks are easily accessible too. Just a good, good design and execution.

I was melting tar blocks in a barrel, dipping juniper wood fence posts in the tar, and setting the posts. We set over 600 posts. Anyway, I used my #15 Boys Knife to cut the paper wrappers off the tar blocks before and while melting them. Of course the knife got a little tar on it. Here it is after cleaning.

I'll keep working on it but all that will not come off even with a polishing wheel and jewelers rouge as the bolsters and blades are slightly pitted. Oh well, that's ok as that's what these knives are meant to be - users.

Glad to hear your praise for this one. I have the exact same knife on it's way to me, should be here Wednesday.

I would say it qualifies. Beautiful wood covers Linus!

Thanks Landon. A chance purchase that's becoming my favorite user. I think this and a soon to arrive Northwoods Burnside Jack will spend the most time in my pockets :)
