Show off your 15's

A little play time in the shop this afternoon. :D Dropped the kick a little and added the EO notch. I always liked the Nifebryte Scout, but they're just too hard to find.

Pure awesome Bob! Seeing this, I might just have to go out and buy a single-blade and get this mod done - that's just too cool!

The beauty of it is David, that I only paid something like $67.00 for the knife and 15-20 minutes modding it vs. spending $200+ for a Scout if I could ever find one.

Got my #15 and been carrying and using it all weekend. I'm totally new to traditional knives, so there's a lot of stuff I'm not used to (not having a Spyderhole or flipper tab for opening) but to my surprise the two-handed opening isn't any less fun to use or play with. I wasn't expecting the jigging to have some occasional sharp edges, nor was I expecting the pull to be so stiff, but that's just me getting used to a whole new type of knife, and I'm rapidly getting used to judging the knife based on what it is, rather than comparing it to a modern production knife.

I thought I was going to miss having a pocket clip, but I find that the knife naturally sinks to the bottom of the pocket and I haven't had any retention problems even in certain pants (sweatpants or mesh shorts) that normally have problems with my keys or wallet falling out of. the compact size is fantastic, it's tiny and slim even compared to my Delica 4, yet sports a very usable and very crisp sheepsfoot blade that happens to also look amazing. for whatever it's worth, my nephew has never really shown any interest in my folders but was very interested in seeing this pocketknife.

I'm looking forward to getting lots and lots of use and enjoyment out of this one!

kubelik, you will find that any sharp edges on the jigging will smooth out after a few weeks of use and pocket carry. If you look at older used bone handled pocket knives you will see that the jigging can be almost gone, worn off to the smooth bone underneath.
Older knives and most current ones used cow bone. GEC is now using Camel shin bone for some of their folders. This is the densest bone known, so if your knife is jigged Camel bone it will take longer for the jigging to smooth out.

Nice knife kubelik, i am waiting on a single blade version to arrive. About that nephew thing, ever since i told my 10 year old great nephew that i have left him all my knives in my will, he keeps inquiring after my health!! Bless him.

Kubelik: I ordered the exact same piece last night, and am looking forward to it with great anticipation. My first GEC and my first new traditional since I acquired a Colonial Knife Co. Barlow when I was a kid (which I still have; in fact, it's with me now).

Congrats on the new toy!

I wasn't in on the last run, but these are great knives. I picked up another for a gift to a friend.

oh Wow
The new camel bone 15s in Blood Orange are just stunning!

I'm still just Wow... Can't wait for the Green single to arrive later this week.

Lotta depth in that camel bone, MrBitters! These turned out great from Derrick and KSF!

You're gonna love it, nugun! Kubelik, that jigging is great on that one!

So far, everything i have read about this recent run of 15's is strongly positive. It seems like no matter which blade or blades you ordered or what handle material, every one came out to a very high standard in all areas. I think this is very impressive.
GEC employees are not resting on their laurels but continue to push themselves to ever higher standards. The result for us is a non stop supply of highly desirable Traditional style folders that almost never disappoint.
Thank you to all who work for GEC. You are much appreciated.

Well said Joe I concur competely! The one non TC #15 SF I just got has incredible build quality and takes no back seat to any other GEC I have handled lately in terms of F & F.

Well said kj, I really like the two I was able to pick up. I actually like the ebony 2-blade so much that I ordered a second one that's due for delivery tomorrow :D
