Show off your Fiddlebacks and Leather

The one that used the Pair Shader. It looked like my old one called "Stress Relief". About 4 oclock on the picture. That was the one I was looking at.

That is yours right?

Hi Tal,

If you are referring to thurin's comment that he has two that he made in that picture (it is hard to tell as you have more than one conversation going in here), yes I think that the hammered (distressed) one at about the 4:00 to 4:30 position is thurin's work (at least according to your Apprentice thread) and the one just above it is thurin's as well (again, according to the apprentice thread). Job well done thurin with both sheaths. The hammered one being your second sheath, shows quite a bit more refinement (in my eyes) compared to your first one. But they are different designs altogether, and this might just be my preference and bias talking. Great job on both though.

I want to shout out once again a great big thank you for starting that Apprentice thread. I have not started to get supplies yet to begin my first sheath, but having read every post in that thread, many more than once, and having viewed your video series through about 1.5 times, I am confident that when the time comes, there will be a successful outcome. Again a big shout out to RLO and Skystorm who both have contributed significantly to the discussions there. Every student made sheath that I saw on that thread was very, very good. And that says a lot about the teacher and the mentors who have participated in the process. As that thread ages, I hope that Andy might consider making it a Sticky

Thanks Walt! You pretty much nailed it. The black hammered and the rustic brown square above it are my two attempts so far.

Tal did awesome with the tutorial and vids and RLo's and Skystorm's input has been very helpful. There are some sweet sheaths in that thread, everyone's been knocking it out of the park.

I'm thinking about starting a third for the Carver this time, and plan on trying to use the carver to do the cutting. Trying to come up with something interesting for the design since it's a unique knife.

Looking forward to yours Walt when you get to it.

Some RLO work. Some Heber work to come soon.

Man I really like that classic basket weave a lot!

Ok, been a while since I played in this thread. This Bonafide sheath was meant for another knife when I ordered it a while back, but it goes well with the Bushcrafter :) I really love the tooling on this one, and the stitching is fantastic, absolutely love the double stitching! but I need to pick up a basket weaved one or two as well.

A little Heber magic and a "vintage" Recluse. Andy, how about we get dual woods again? It has been a while. W. T. Anderson, I am keeping my promise to use it! Regards,

Nice Recluse. I almost caved and got it a long time ago. Good to see it being used

Thank you No Fair. It also has a thicker handle and the woods used on its handle grow in our area which is neat.

Yowza. YOWZA! That is some beautiful craftsmanship right there. I love the variety of colors, border patterns, and belt/dangler configurations. Really really nice work there. I agree with Bonafide that that piggy-back set-up is the Bomb! I am very happy for you getting these to go with your great knife collection.

By the way, what is the status of your knife collection? You have done so much wheeling & dealing lately that I have lost touch with what you actually have. The good news for the rest of us around here is that all of your future trades will come with really awesome Rick Lowe sheaths.

Thanks,

Phil

Some recent work from the mad scientist himself, Rick Lowe

Thanks gents!
Rick is the man and has been delivering non-stop for some of my more special projects ;). I'll have some pics of the family going up in the next few days after the remainder of trades / purchases come in! Regarding the collection, I think (?) I'm finished for now (give or take a few random ones / duplicates that everyone will be seeing up in the fleamarket in the near future)!

Just want to take a minute and thank Will and everybody for the kind words. It's a real pleasure doing work for the Fiddleback family! For myself, and I'm sure for the other talented leather guys here, your support is well appreciated.
