Show us your Randalls

I dunno, it kinda looks like a brown canvas micarta, not the green linen micarta that RMK uses that has lost it's chromatics to heat. The grain (weave) structure looks a bit coarser than I'm used to seeing. I'm betting CS material. I have a 24"x48"x.5" sheet of brown phenolic that looks just like it.

Well, after getting a shop supplied green Micarta handled knife in the mail yesterday, I would tend to agree with you... :)

Something unusual that I've probably posted here before - I've never seen another RMK with this hilt (guard) shape...

Green Micarta handled #16-7 Special Fighter...

That may be the nicest "full tang 1-7" I've seen yet.

Sheldon,is that a Bob Dozier sheath on that unusual Pathfinder?I was looking through some old RKS newsletters earlier today. One from about 1990 had a short article about him making kydex sheaths for Randalls.

Here is a picture of my Randalls the 14 I have had for 25 years,the 26 13 years,the 3 and the 8 I've had about 4 years.The 3 and 26 are o-1 and the 14 and 8 are stainless.

Willis,

Nooo, the Kydex sheath was made by the friend that I purchased the knife from years ago - another friend recently wanted to purchase the knife due to its unique hilt and handle configuration; as I was packaging it up, realized I had shipped the wrong sheath with another knife last November. Currently unwinding that part of that deal, I'm hoping the correct sheath will be here tomorrow.

Both were slightly used brown stitch, logo snapped Model #8-4 style B model sheaths that are nearly identical face on, but the original sheath for the knife above is stamped 26 C on the back - I'm just thankful the November buyer was accommodating enough to make the swap. (Big wheeu!)

Nice collection you've got going there btw!

Mack, agreed, it's right as rain and pretty darn sweet! The #16-7 SF is essentially a serious business full-tang Model #1-7; and if you're going with the Single Finger-Groove (SFG) handle shape, you almost have to go with the Forward Curved Hilt (FCH) option to give the larger index finger knuckle some room for movement - but that's not what trick about this knife; the special order waxed, no-hone, C model sheath that I ordered is. Marked 16WC, I've never seen another like it...

You keep coming up with new and exciting info Shel. Thanks, I hadn't really noticed the sheath before, that's cool.

Indeed! Here's another cool sheath arrived back safely, the fellow bought another knife too, and a new stable mate arrived today as well - all things considered, it was a pretty good day... :D

Dunno why the handle on the new non-catalog Sargeant's Special looks warped; it's not...
