Lone_Wolfe, the bottom one is a non-catalog Denmark Special configured as the II-L knife shown on the non-catalog insert. SS blade, brass hilt, brass & red spacers, Sambar Stag handle...cool 'lil knife, and a great cutter with the #6 style blade grind.

That is a block of "ringed gidgee" -- yea, I never heard of it either. I think it is related to Koa. I got that for some future un-decided project -- either one that I will make, or send to Randall.

Ringed Gidgee is a type of Acacia (same family as Koa) that grows in desert/arid areas of Western Australia. Density like Ironwood, figure like Koa.

Thanks. Yea, love the feel of it. The knife is fairly heavy for a medium sized knife, but it has good balance -- somewhere right on the index finger in the first groove. That seems to make the knife feel much lighter in the hand than it actually is.
