Show Your Patina, Forced, Earned, or Accidental

I think this old Camillus jack knife came by it's look honestly.

Here's one I slowly developed over 6 months it developed a gun metal grey just from normal use and wiping down with an oil dampened cloth occasionally.

The consistency came from never cutting food till the even patina was deep enough that it couldn't be wiped off.
Here's the 2012 forum knife with about 5-6 months of patina.

There's some some really nice aging going on here folks, some really nice patina.

Nice old Camillus Hawk; here's one that's a little worse for the wear - modeling another natural patina. OH

The synthetic covers on this old Robeson are shrinking and gapping from the bolsters, but the blades are full and show a nice patina.

Well, the Order of Patina Patina is now 6 members strong....who want's to be #'s 7,8,and 9?;)

P.S. You may want to add membership in this distinguished fraternity to your signature line.

A combination of forced, earned, and accidental. The Bark River as it appears, fits in all 3 categories - only forced because I lightly sanded it last night...it had sort of a nice black wash look afterwards, but I didn't want to leave it with scratches.

The patina on this old butcher's knife is so thick, any etch that might have once been there is now long gone.

gets inducted into the Order of the Patina Patina for the sheer volume of forced patina knives. Congrats mustard man...

Thank you! Not only an honor, but a privelage - I'll wear my mustard flag proudly!:D

Unknown knife I found at Sandy Hook when I was a kid. Only the main blade isn't broken. I never use this knife but can't get rid if it due to sentiments. Maybe I'll find out what model it is and buy one to actually use.

Here's the current list of anointed members of the Order of Patina Patina. If you wish to be a member of this most prestigious, you've got to post your patina. Remember, there are three members selected each Sunday, and there are three categories, first being the naturally acquired patina, the second being the forced patina, and lastly, the older then dirt, beat up, neglected rust buckets that some here still may carry.
