I need some fine examples of seriously neglected, lost and found, rust bucket basket cases depicted. I'm doing something a bit different for this Sunday, there will be two members from each category ordained into the Order of Patina Patina. It is this last category of misfit knives I'm having a hard time with, since there are no real examples of these trashed knives since the last commencement exercise; so let's get moving, and if you have to set fire to your knife, and then run over it with the snow chained tires on your SUV, and finally finish her off in a wood chipper, that's OK too.:D

Here's a few for you.

First a Camillus TL-27 Electrician's. Found in an old boathouse in the Adirondacks. Exposed to the elements for at least 25 years. This thing still has bear trap snap and is solid as a rock.

Next a Big Case Trapper from "who knows when." The blades are still scary sharp with solid snaps, though they're probably a third of their original width. The original scales were lost long before I ever met it. I was given it by a fellow forum member and by then it had leather scales that had shrunken and all but fallen off.

And finally here's the Wreck of Old '97. An Empress From Japan. Not sure if you'd still call it a knife or parts.

I'm not going to show my hand just yet, but may I suggest you get a nice bottle of wine for your Sundays evening dinner?

Once I've taken a shower and woken up, I've got a hammer brand Barlow that fits the bill. You'll really like this one. ;)

OK, there's still time for someone to post a forced patina. I have narrowed it down to 5 new members to be, of course that may change, but I only have one selectee in the forced patina category. So let's get cracking...I don't want to nominate myself, so if I only have one for the forced category, then that's what will be this Sunday. C'mon guyz, break out that expensive 1095/CV blade and give them an acid bath....

Remember, just because your picture isn't picked this time doesn't mean that same pic won't be picked later...you're earlier postings are and will be continuously reviewed for later selection.

These all look very nice but I LOVE that dark Sheepsfoot blade with the Walnut handle! Gorgeous and one of my favorites I've seen here on the forum! I wish they would make these all the time so I could have hopes of getting one. Good job on the cold blue on these!

Here is my Radio Knife. It's earned it's patina through cutting everything from apples to steaks. This is my favorite knife as of right now. 😉
