Sign of the Times?

...... if you buy for yourself, then it really doesn't matter what the market does, and no regrets either way.

And there you have it  :D

I just wish "myself" didn't need so many expensive knives :grumpy: :grumpy: ... it is worse than having a wife

thats better than real funny TG!

kudos to Cobalt for having another beautiful collection of Mistresses!

I wished I could get one of those for the safe. Ah!

Lot more fun than the ones I currently own

This thread, for just a minute made me think about selling off a few.

Thought hard enough to talk about it with my Wife.

Made my ears ring, pretty odd that.

She said "Nope, not now, maybe if we need to build a Garage"

That is as close as I have come to selling off in several years.

Saved by the bell(ringing in my ears)

What an accomodating wife  . Mine could care less with what I did with my toys, so I am always left to my own thoughts as to what I should do with what I have. It can be difficult to decide at times  ...

There are some serious offloadings of INFI going on in the Exchange lately.

It's a buyer's market boys!!!

Less a sign of the times and more a sign of a broken model. If I want a CE Sarsquatch, I now need to pay a $150 premium for a just released knife. Pretty stupid because it's not going to happen.... guess a few fall into the trap, but not enough to sustain the idiocracy.

If someone wants a classic/out of production like the SJ pics posted in this thread, then the premium should apply and more power goes to the seller. Otherwise, it's just BS to mark up recent issued production knives.

Personally, I'd rather order direct from Busse or the Company store vs. messing with the greed on the exhange or eBay. There are a bunch of you ruining the experience of owning INFI.

Though I'm not big on flipping INFI at a high markup, it's actually more the buyer's fault than the seller's. The first person that pays $450 for a CG SARsquatch sets the "market" value at that price, and suddenly, everyone wants $450. It's worth $450 only if someone is crazy enough or desperate enough to pay it.

I've seen this value go through the roof on some knives in a pretty incredible amount of time. It seemed like SHBMs went from $600 or so to over $1000 overnight. ABA LEs were around $400 for quite a long time. Suddenly, they're being assessed at values of $800.

I've sold quite a bit of INFI at my cost lately, mostly spares of Game Wardens and a lot of it first-time INFI for the buyer. I know this is true of a lot of other people here as well.

As for purchasing, I've paid markup on plenty of occasions and been just fine with it. My SH-E, for instance, was well over $500, but it was such a nice, polished-spine specimen that I had no problems with the price. Would I pay that much mark-up on a SARsquatch? No way.

I think the sarsqwatch will go up in value drastically because it is one of the best mid sized knives ever made unless production continues.

ABA LE for 800, that is insane. Such a small knife going for that much, I guess that makes CG SHBM's at 1400+ and SHBA's at 800 a steal these days.

I think Jerry will continue to put these out for quite a while.
Seems to be what he does now.

Just look at the Game Warden...
I think Jerry was on par when they were introduced and saying there would be 15 variations.
But 37 variations?!?!? Woof!
They even had to adjust the price point to just under $200 to move the last of them.
When they came out... satin GWs were running about $230... and there is less INFI in the skinnies.

Agreed.

Yes if an SFNO can fetch 600-700 a Sarsqwatch will do the same- unless Jerry makes 2,000 of them. But you never know what he'll do.  So if you want a Sarsqwatch you need to go pay what you need to pay to get one.

I don't think the price is that jacked up yet. With not much looking I just found one for $325. They sold for $287 and the buyer paid some shipping and has to pay again to the buyer so I don't see the issue

Hmmm... that wasn't me. I'm asking $675 for mine. :D

Well, I am putting my sarsqwatches up for $2000. But I need to go Stamp an LE number on them.

If you do it right the 10 you have would be numbered between 1 and 500, also a ghost "BUSSE" would add $500.

That is the same price point where I'm going to sell all my Game Wardens.

That sounds fair. PayPal on the way. I'm throwing in an extra $100 for shipping.
