there it is.My Carothers D3V steel ain't scared of no bamboo.
Maybe if you’re lucky he’ll share a picthere it is.
000Robert doesn't disappoint.
So where are we on this little experiment? What knives have youwreckedused yet?
A Parang or Golok from My Parang, what they are meant for (amongst other things), great steel for the job and very well balanced so the blade does the cutting with little effort. I'd guess would perform better than most higher priced blades as they are very reasonably priced.
It's a hobby project not my job.
Definitely be trying heavy machetes in the mix.
The obvious contenders I think are large Bowie's, Kuhkri, heavy machetes, large camp knives, swords.
my fixed blade collection currently consists of; fighters, hunters, daggers, boot & neck knives, edc knives, light machetes, the CS black. bear Bowie machete & CS Barong.
I think the Barong will do well.
squeeze a Buck 119/120 in there for me. its not a chopper size or design....i realize, but id sure like to see how the 420hc does.....thanks.Definitely be trying heavy machetes in the mix.

Lol. Dude, you started the thread.
It's like inviting everyone in your neighborhood to a BBQ party, only to announce you don't have any meat. Or a BBQ.
Doesn't sound like a lot of supersteels in the mix. Am I wrong?
Need I remind you of your comment, "bunch of geeks paying hundreds of dollars for a few inches of super-steel edged object and too chicken-shit to trim some bamboo stalks in the back yard for mortal fear they might chip their blade"???
You're not exactly exploring uncharted territory using machetes, barongs or khukuris to hack bamboo.
It appears you think I am seeking your approval or validation, good joke.
Here is some advice that may help. See the tools that are being used for some tips.
hopefully it does better on bamboo than water bottles......You should try out the jimislash competition chopper!
It's rolling in his hand, duh!hopefully it does better on bamboo than water bottles......
