SM-100 Myth debunked...

What is the op? I don't think I'm being rude. This is a knife forum right half of the people that responded to me or almost all of them don't even own a knife and if they do it's not sm-100. Why dose everybody want to talk about everything other than sm-100 I don't get it. I also pay money and support this forum. Why do I can come here to try and learn something and have people respond like the yo mommy guy or what ever his name is. "Seriously" No body knows anything about nothing but the like to pretend they do and people love to give there opinion and that's ok. For me if I don't know something about a given topic if could be anything online or in person I keep my month shut and listen.

Get a load of this guy!!!
Talk about a self-entitled attitude:D

Frontmouth,You're not expecting much business are you?
OP is Original Poster, the one who starts the thread. You're right that there's a chance that nobody on this thread has SM-100 knives. I'm pretty sure everyone here has a knife though. I haven't seen where you said anything about SM-100. All you've talked about is how wrong a video is and remarked on some old posts. I hope you can get info on that metal and share it with us. If per chance you really want to vent, you'll receive a wonderful reception in the Whine & Cheese forum.
Anyhow, I hope you find what you're looking for and if you do, share it with us.

Ok thank you for explaining. I'm not venting and again the wine and cheese remark and you don't know anything about sm-100 either you just wanted to leave a comment :(

Frontmonth, keep it classy. You mock Thomas Linton's post count. I bet you don't know how valuable he is helping identify knives on our Bernard Levine subforum, just for one example. You mock post counts? Check mine out, then see what I do here.

Share what you know but spare us your own inflated self-regard.

By the way, OP refers to Original Post or Original Poster, the first item in a thread.

Yes because this has nothing to do with sm-100 :( I'm glade he is helping you :)

"This isn’t like Stellite, Talonite, Beta Titanium, or Carbidized Titanium. It is hardened through the whole blade, not just the surface. It actually holds an edge! It is very difficult to break because it can bend in ways steel just can’t and return to its original shape."

Dammit! There are beta phase alloying elements for titanium that give it a deep/through hardenability, and it can hold an edge!*

*For big blade cutting and chopping? No doubt.

For sure, that Sm-1000 blade that was chipping out had a heat treatment problem.

Well hell, Frontmonth, do you make knives out of Sm-1000 or what? Post some work and observations! :)

I wasted 3 minutes looking at his work, he won't be crafting any knives out of the "exotics" any time soon.
I usually don't get quite this wound up but this character has checked all the boxes for a shunning.
As to OPs... I know a guy in my snowmobiling club that has a few ferrum forge knives. One is sm-100, he likes it.
I can't wait till it needs a sharpening, I want a crack at it...

I could care less. if people want something they buy it if the don't like it they don't buy it.

Piss poor attitude always makes me want to do business with someone. Hey all the "big shots" in the knife industry are dicks, so you will fit in real good. Anyone seen Villiers lately?

I have a few SM-100 knives with a good HT. It is a great blade metal! But, there is only one thing I don't like about it. It does not have the aggressive cutting that most, if not all steels do, it does not have that "bite". I don't know if it is lack of carbides, or something else, just that it is a noticeable difference. Great stuff though!

I'm not a knife maker or in the industry do you know anything about Sm 100.
