Smallish Fixed Blades

An El Toro in Black Walnut. Small to smallish fixed blades is what I do. This is a larger blade for me and it runs 3 1/8 inches blade length and 7 3/4 inches overall:

My friend Win Heger Win Heger reminded by his post that I neglected to include one of my oldest knife in my collection, it rests in my middle desk drawer in the slip sheath I had made for it.

A knife that was gifted to me many many moons ago by Win and is a great cutter that I plan to use more often, in fact it will slice up my apple at lunch today!
Thanks again Win, my memory is fuzzy as to the year, very early 90’s but it was at the Baltimore knife show and one that M Mike Snody made his first appearance and where I met with Chefget Chefget and he had some great food to share!

And as I was looking at the collection photo again I realized that I had forgotten to include this Griffin knife, one that I plan to have for a long time, it just fits and cuts so well.

Generally I prefer a 4" - 5" fixed blade, but I have a few smaller ones. I used a Stanley fixed blade daily for years, but disposable blades aren't in the same category to me.

This is a recent one, now the smallest fixed blade I own. Not sure I would go shorter unless it's a specific type of carving knife.

Some small ones from David Mary Customs David Mary David Mary

A note: I broke the tip in the blue handled Sharkbite knife doing something dumb, but necessary at the time. I’ll fix it soon. David offered to do it, but shipping back and forth across the border makes it not worth the effort. He’d fix it better than I can, however.
