For me there is only one .
~ Well maybe two .
Actually three .
There is no other handle material for me but this rough rubber sh*t (I say that because I know there are many that are shaking their heads right now ). That's OK . . . "I'm in love and I don't care who knows it ".
Basically "it" is the Cold Steel Pendleton Mini Hunter
IN 3V. These first three . First one is stock , second one is stock with DLC and the third is my prefered thickness that I ground to about 1.5mm ; half of the stock thickness . 3V in this length is just BEGGING to be this thin .
Now the maybe two . . . the handle is too short so I would want the handle from their Kitchen Classic Series . I in fact have two of those ((see the next two knives )) (one sharpened Toothy and one polished edge ) . I have given this model away as gifts. Only available in 1.4116 blade alloy
The third "One" is the little Cold Steel Super Edge . I would be happy if it was just plain edge and I ground one that way even though it still looks serrated .
Now we get to my
Big But as Peweei Herman said .
The fricken fraken Edge Duller sheaths . I mean . . . if you like to sharpen Cold Steel is YOUR KNIFE company ; you don't even have to use the knife just carry it in their goofy sheeth and you have your knife all dull again and ready to sharpen .
Here is the progression until I found a way to carry "it" and still have a sharp knife when I need it .
The Mora sheaths (third one down ) are awesome / they don't dull knives . Pretty bulky for this little dude but it got me going.
Before I tried the Mora I made up an in pocket tethered sheath ; see Edge Duller above .
Finally, finally , finally I stumbled across this all purpose leather sheath for just inpocket carry (the last two sheeths) . Wrapped the knife(s) in plastic , soaked the sheeths in warm water , put knife in situe , let 'er dry and . . . nice click into place fit ! ! !
NO MORE DULL EDGES !
One for the K. Classic and one for the PM Hunter .
For me there is no place else to go ; just a longer handle together with 3V .
