Snark all day

I like some of the Busse family but they have lots of handles and they dont all fit me.

Mmmm new laptop goodness today. Power jack broke on the other one.

Anyone here experienced in ASP .net?

You may still be able to resurrect the old laptop depending on the make and model. They've gotten a little bit smarter these days and the power jacks are no longer part of the motherboard on many of them. I just swapped the charging board on my wife's Dell, found it online for about $15, did require some disassembly to get to it, but it works great. The repaired computer might make a good gift for a young family member or something.

what blade length, what blade thickness, what size hands do you have, what uses do you have planned for it?

i guess i can link them since they have a page here, if im wrong ill edit it out http://www.swampratknifeworks.com/company.html

Im wanting it for an edc blade. im leaning towards the rmd over the rodent. the rodent 6 is thicker and longer than the bk2 so it just sounds awesome big! hands are medium wear a large glove. i like that i can pick blade finish and handle material. nice looking knife all around i think. steel is suppose to be great sr101 58-60 heat treat.

I like the looks of the Rodent Solution.
Where do you live that a 6"+ 0.265" thick knife makes any sense as an EDC? Kodiak?
I really like the Rodent-3, but that grind is too low for 3/16", IMO.

LMAO, i live in philly at the moment and i cant carry even a small folder here in the city. but in florida open carry would be fine i think? make sense for edc? not really but thats why i leaned towards the RMD over the rodent 6. I have a bk2, but have a bk16 on the way. the bk16 makes more sense for edc in the country but i still wouldnt give up having my bk2. id like the idea of the rodent 6 its a big strong knife but would rather use the rmd in most cases. same with the beckers.

I have a Rodent Solution. The handle and steel is great, but mine had a super thick edge for that sized knife. Took a lot of work to get it thinned out so that it was useful for small knife tasks. Lots of people love the RMD but I havent tried one.

Made the rounds of the flea markets in Poplar Bluff yesterday and spent 27 bucks. Here's the haul. The leather punch is a Bernard (USA made) and the leather scissors are still sharp. Pretty good day. :D

I live in New England and Florida doesn't figure into my EDC plans. Are you moving? Context, man, we need context! (or maybe only I do...)

a RMD-sized blade as EDC seems only good for defense ("That's not a knife...") or chopping on things while being cumbersome for everything else. Perhaps in the 'glades it would be appropriate, if you were to live there all the time. Of course I'd LOVE to see a video of you opening a UPS package by chopping with a RMD. Then cleaning your fingernails and opening the mail.

Of course that's not a reason not to get one - perhaps what I'm getting at is that you may want to find a more appropriate avenue of rationalization for this thing that you clearly must have!

yea im going to be moving, im buying some land there. but 2 years left here first. im from there. size of blade doesnt matter open carry from what i seen. i go there from time to time.
Bk2 is great length for me as an edc. just thick blade has its ups and downs. rmd is same length pretty much. nice handle, thinner blade. wouldnt use either for serious chopping i have a bk9 if i need to chop. just already have 5 beckers, 2 more on the way and looking for a different design. i cant see how the rmd is not a knife or how it couldnt work well in normal task. ill hold it side by side the bk16 when i get both to compare.

The coating on the RS is super tough, but I think its a different coating. It is very thick and has texture to it. The toughest coating of any knife I have including the other Bussekin. Not sure if the RMD has that coating or a different one.

I like the looks of the Fallkniven F1 for a good all around knife.

Spent the morning out hunting. Saw a ton of deer early on, but no opportunities to get any shots on a decent buck. Went and trudged around in the snow and woods in a local state park that is open to hunting and didn't see a thing. There were tons of tracks and other signs of deer, but that was about it. We walked in and picked a spot then sat for a while and then we would move to a different spot and sit and watch for a while again. Found a nice spot with a pretty good view that I might head back to in a bit and sit there til it gets dark. I wasn't able to fill my tag last year and I'll be damned if I'm going to let that happen again!!

I have heard good things about the Fallkniven S1 as an alternative to the F1.

thats good i havent really seen alot of issues with the coatings. And i dont really care for busses looks. not into fighting style knives for the most part. but the swamp rat rodent series looks good and the ratmandu looks great to me. i have went and looked thru thousands of knives on hundreds of sites trying to find the right pick for me. i think i found it with the rmd. ill find out in a couple weeks.
