Just purchased a Taurus Judge.
For no other reason than fun shooting.
I already have a home protection and concealed carry pistol.
I have no other reason to own this pistol except for fun shooting.
I’ve always been drawn to it.
Looking forward to it!
I have the Raging Bull Magnum M513. 454 Casull, 45Colt, 3 inch .410. A load of 3 inch #6s is a squirrels worst nightmare. Or as I call them Limb Chickens

Slugs are pretty dang accurate and not to shabby IIRC 96grain trucking along at 1400fps fun fun. Your gonna love it Jonny

I love me a .410.

When I was a kid I had a very old break barrel single with a comically long smooth bore barrel. I had no idea on the make/model, as I was more interested in feeding it and shooting at everything.

A normal weekend would entail tromping around the woods and farm ponds with that old gun, with an assortment of slugs and shot.

That old thing had a patina and hand-whittled forward stock.

I wish I knew what happened to that old gun.

You gave me flashbacks. I wish I still had my POS break open, no name, probably H&R .410 Many a bullfrog got popped with that ole thing pond hunting.

I’d always have a few cut shell bird shots in my pocket. Never new when I might cross paths with a pig or a gator.

The beauty of a shotgun is that versatility.

I was always jazzed to see how hard those .410 slugs hit.

I wasn't exactly a rich kid, but I worked summer farm gigs, mowed yards, shoveled snow, scraped and painted fence, cut sourdock out of row crops, baled and stacked hay, worked farrow to finish hog lots, serviced cars, etc etc etc. to scrape up enough cheddar to buy good shoes, fuel for my motorcycle, and ammo.

.410 ammo was cheap, plentiful, and didn't quite have the lethal range that a .22 had.

Nowadays with all this ammo shortages and pricing, it is a crying shame that youth today can't enjoy the same pleasures we did.

When I turned 18 I was given a cheap German single action 22 revolver that I carried every where. I don't know where it ended up. My lovely wife told me She budgeted some extra money for my birthday this weekend . Buy something just fun . I picked up a Ruger Wrangler last night. We'll go make some noise this weekend.

Buds Gun shop lol I did the same thing. I wanted a revolver to shoot all that cheap 22lr that won’t cycle in my 10/22. It’s plenty accurate. The odd thing is the loading gate unlocks the cylinder to rotate both directions. Slows down the reloading process. You don’t have that positive stop that lines up with the ejector rod.

I picked up the DeSantis Gunhide Wild Hog holster for the Wrangler. One of the best holster purchases I’ve ever done.

Being a lefty I don't let many holsters go. I had this holster for a Blackhawk . My most carried holster is a DeSantis thumb break mini slide that is on my belt 80% of the time I am not at work with a Glock 42 in it.
I read up on the Wrangler before I bought it . I can live with the odd stuff . I heard enough people say it's accurate to believe it is . Experience has taught me 75% of complaints of guns not being accurate is due to the operator not the gun . We will see this weekend

Best of luck to you guys. We haven't had a heavy snow for a few years now. I think 3 years ago we got 15 inches, but it melted after a few days.

daizee daizee Bladite Bladite You ready for this one? I’m gonna take a beating out on the east end of the island but y’all are in for it.

Tank, you're on the Lawn Guyland?

Yeah, I'm in southwest Rhody, and last I saw was 18", give or take. Plus tropical storm gusts. So tropical.
I will likely lose power. Got extra water (on a well), candles, lights, wood stove. Should be ok as long as nothing disastrous happens and the roof doesn't cave in. :p

I Rem-oiled the shovels this afternoon. Gonna be fit by Monday. Or crippled.

Yeah east end south shore. Woods split, 250 in the fuel tank, sprayed PAM on the shovels. Snow chucker is gassed up.
I took down every tree that could touch my house last year. I do love me a tuned Stihl. Looking at about 20 inches and 60 mph according to the last update from Upton national weather station.
Stay safe Brotha

Cripes on those numbers, but also good prep!
Good luck!

I grew up carrying an old break action .410 with a Ruger Single Six instead of the 22 rifle after dad gave me the revolver. I still have and use the .410 break action for a fun rabbit hunt now and then. It was made by Stevens I think and rebranded and sold through Sears. I'll have to try to remember and take a picture.

The .410s are dang accurate with slugs. I always wished they were legal to use during slug season for deer. They will put a pig down fast. And the versatility with 2 1/2" or 3" shot shells or slugs make em great for a truck gun.

The Warrior The Warrior

How are you liking that Roselli you have? The high hardness carbon steel has my interest piqued.

The RW256 Minnow looks like it might be a great fillet and butcher/boning knife.

Pretty pricy though.

Haven't used it for some time, tbh. I have the axe model. I believe the only difference between the axe and hatchet model, is that the axe handle is a bit longer, although the head is the same size. It''s an unusual axe, in that it is very thick for it's size. Chops well though. I chopped down a big tree with it, but it took me two hours to do. I also like that it's bearded, which makes it useful for feather sticking, etc. I'll post some photos later. On my phone now.
