Not to be a downer, but I hope you all were wearing eye and ear pro when you were shooting and took them off for the photo op.

No, you're not a downer at all. Captain obvious maybe, but not a downer. :D

Been recently enjoying Old Dublin as it's been easier to find than Squadron Leader.

Is that like Copenhagen?

If you were to dip pipe tobacco, would it be a significantly different experience than Copehagen?

I'm actually serious. I don't have much pipe tobacco experience. And none in this century.

I will leave the answer to that to the folks who actually partake of nicotine sources.
I think it was Derek who tried a pinch of the bracken between cheek and gum -- once.........

I wasn't smart enough to stop with the once thing on dip. But a good day puking in someone's yard while mowing their grass in high school sure slowed me down. I think I only tried it a time or two more in the next few years, and then just gave up.

I can't see pipe tobacco being any worse than Cannonball twist. Mmmmmm...mmmm......juicy.

Mainly, I just hope the kid was wearing a cup.

Okay, I'll admit that I always overreact when I see photos on a range with no eye and ear pro. I should know by now that you are "Mr. Safety".

It's a non-contact sport, so a jock strap should be sufficient...

Looks like an awesome day Trade! I love taking my little ones out shooting!

Great picture trade! Looks like a blast!

So most of you REALLY use eye protection when your shooting on private property? Really? It's just us here... No range Rambo to lie to :D

Can't say we enforce the eye protection around here... But if you get shot in the eye, it's doubtful the glasses will stop a bullet... J/k.. Kinda lol :D

We don't enforce hearing protection either... More like 4 guys fight over 3 sets of ears, and the slowest shoves his fingers in his ears...

Now when kids are present they have to wear hearing and eye protection... That's seldom though.. But when it's just adults hearing protection only comes out when the larger rifles or pistols are brought out... And eye protection is really only in the range bag for ranges that require it...

Just being honest...

That's my "back yard" brother, not a range. We were sitting around the fire after shooting and my grandson wanted his dad to take his picture with the first AR's he'd fired. He did very well and I'm a proud Grandpa. Don't normally sit around the campfire with eye and ear pro on but it's probably not a bad idea. Especially at gatherings. :D

Rest assured plenty of pro was used during the shooting session and the lecture isn't required, but thanks for your concern and it's great advice.

I can't lay claim to the title of "Mr. Safety" though. That would be Moose, who lets go the split instant the fuse is lit. Ask Guyon. :D

Ok, got some news on our house hunting, we didn't get the 1/2 acre because of the major upgrades it needed after searching around with my inlaws. We found a place and now we are just waiting for the paper work to get finalized. I've never had a pool and never thought I'd ever own a pool until this place. Summers are gonna be awesome with the 110 degree weather we get out here. There's a 3 car garage which I'd get 1 side for my shop. I'm so happy to finally have my own place and not have to rent anymore.

Ear protection is a must. If we are shooting steel targets eye protection is a must. If we are shooting cardboard or paper I try to remain consistent with the safety but I lax a little bit on the eye protection.

Congrats JD! that's awesome news!

I wear both ear and eye protection usually. Sometimes the eye protection gets in the way shooting some rifles for me because of how low some scopes are mounted.

Also, you guys and your AR-15s are driving me nuts!

Shooting glasses won't stop bullets fired from a gun, but they will probably stop a ricochet, or fragments, or whatever else comes bouncing back at you. And I've had a lot of crap come back at me with just enough force to cost me an eye if I had been unlucky enough to get hit there. And they're only ten bucks.
