I wear poly-carbonate prescription lenses normally and safety glass certified tinted prescription lenses when in the sun. Ear pro at the range and when working with power tools or mowing in the yard. Don't use ear pro when hunting, but all I hunt now (when I get the chance) is wild pigs, and I used a suppressed short-barreled rifle for that. I stick a finger in my ear on the side facing him when my hunting partner lets loose with his .458 SOCOM.

My wife thinks I'm obsessive when I mow the lawn, but it helps keep the allergens out of my nose and lungs. The poison ivy still gets through, so I'm considering finding a Level A Hazmat suit with SCBA....

Haha, I hear ya Rick. I felt the same. I intended to get micarta but they sold out while waiting for my paycheck to clear. BOGO had me hooked so I settled. Now that I have them, I feel they might grow on me but still a bit busy in the aesthetic dept. My intent was to sell/trade for micarta. The other pair was two right sides so I'm waiting for the replacement to arrive. They may just stay in the package until Becker East.

I will say this, I def don't hate them like I thought I would and I almost even like them! They look real good on the modded 9 which is mostly a dedicated chopper. Time will tell. I surely can see the appeal and have no reason to bash them or not recommend, esp for folks who are hung up on grippiness and say stock Becker grips are slippery etc...those guys will love them.

I handled them at SMKW, and hated them. I don't like the plastic feel, or the nurl texturing they have. I wouldn't pay $20 for those let alone $50. Sorry, for not articulating more of my thoughts. I'm actually busy at work right now.
 
That's exactly how I expected they'd feel just by looking at them. And that IS exactly what they are like. And those are the exact reasons I WAS going to stay away. Well...the BOGO and the desire for something different for a few of my blades got the best of me. The surprise for me was that even though they are just as anticipated... I like them more than I thought I would and they don't look as bad as I figured.

Now, if someone were to trade even Steven for micarta or wood, even at the higher price point, I'd do it, but probably keep one set around just 'cuz.

Haha I hear ya Dubz! Wife asks if there's something special I want to do on my birthday and I say yeah...nothing! Or go see a movie...just you and the kids lol.

I'm not going to go any deeper into it than this. Just pointing out why this "rearrangement" irritates me.

We post opinions here to further spread knowledge, awareness, and view points... right? So, why single me out as posting "quick crap" in YOUR thread? 1) I didn't say anything negative about anything, or anyone, other than the subject of the thread. 2) I didn't go on, and on speaking without first-hand experience. If anybody wanted more explanation from me... a simple "why?" would've sufficed. I ask why you single me out, because I haven't seen you do this to, or for any other thread. Plenty of other threads have been truly ruined, and you've not moved, or deleted from those. So, you can explain this, or not, or even give me more of your snarky quips. I really don't care, but if you're going to police your own threads like that... then police all of them like that. I have spoken (in text), and don't GAS any further.

I believe he was saying since he stated in the thread title they rock and you come in and "ish" all over them and leave you kind of missed the point of the thread and hence the move. You don't have to like it, but I'll just say after having my say before (and being in the wrong, also) it's better to respect the biscuit than sass him.

Speaking of biscuit... Dude I need a good biscuit recipe for next time I head out to camp. Cause last time we made biscuits and gravy while we were out I just used cans and it was good, but not the same!

I suck at Dutch oven biscuits. It's a skill I still need to develop. Seems like there were some good ones in that cast iron thread, but I don't know about recipes.
