If I wasn't able to carry at least a folder I'd be asking for one of those too. Nice work! Thankfully most people don't care, but they do have some kinda rule about knives where I work.

I like going to Trader Joe's because every associate is strapped with a utility knife in a leather sheath.
Seriously, that's one of my favorite reasons.

Oh, here's a smell I DON'T love: recently deceased ROUS. Damn mouse suffering from gigantism in one of the snap-traps last night. I double-bagged him and tossed it in the trash, but he stinks to high heaven this morning. Musta been fresh. OUT goes the trash! (3 bags now)

Even worse than dead ROUS is the smell of necrotic flesh. Once it has turned black and has maggots growing in it, it's one of the worst smells I've ever had the displeasure of smelling.

What's a good scope? I'm wanting to get another/different one for my .223. Looking at bushnell, and leupold.

when it rained it would make maggot soup in the back of the trash truck when I worked the grounds crew as a teenager. that was foul. then it would drip slowly out a rust hole as we drove around campus. those were the days I rode in the cab.

Nick, have you looked at the Redfield stuff? They were bought-redone by Leupold a few years ago. I wanted one for my .30-30. Not sure if they have what you need, but for awhile they looked like the best US-made budget scope you could by, and a good deal even in the international market.

You'd love our coyote rock pile, or just dealing with the sheep after a coyote kills them now that I think about it. Smells horrible.

I keep spellings smells as smeels.

After reading and seeing Todd's post and pic of "the scribe" I started to wonder. You know how some people proclaim/need/want/ (insert your relevant adjective here) that their "pet" is a anti-stress/therapy (insert your relevant adjective here) type of pet? I was wondering if a knife could be considered as such. I asked myself this and I came up with the answer that "yes, for me, my knife is a big time stress reliever." Even if I am not using it to cut things, I feel safe and comfortable that its there. So, for me, if I worked at a place that removed that comfort, aren't they in a sense creating an environment that is, not only unsafe for me, but also stressful? I don't know about any of you, but my knife is like a stress ball. It just relaxes me.

After these thoughts, I realized, that even though I have to sometimes do things I don't really want to do, or be some places I don't necessarily want to be, how is it also logical to sacrifice my own comfort and willingly increase (or test) my stress for a particular policy that makes no sense?

Yuk, I once had to work on a meat cooler that had broke down over the weekend. Nothing like the smell of decomposing meat and blood. Ended up having to run all my hand tools thru the dishwasher )much to my wife's chagrin), and throwing out my belt to get rid of the stench after. Never forget that smell.

Might be on to something there. In my daughters school they're allowed to have a "fidget" object - usually a small toy or something to squeeze. Apparently allows to more hyper/special needs kids to focus properly. Now almost all the class is doing it. Wonder if the bosses will buy that your knife is just a fidget tool to help you be more productive…

Kind of like a companion animal that is sometimes used for people suffering from PTSD. We have a lady here at work who has her dog sitting under her desk all day and he goes with her to meetings, etc. This would be better than a companion animal since it doesn't bark, shed, eat or poop.

You sometimes see the dogs in stores wearing a "Service Animal" vest. I'm thinking the pointy object needs a sheath labeled "Service Object."

Edit: The pinky is feeling better, but still is sensitive and oozes a fair amount. Because it is still sensitive, I have to stick it out so I feel like a tsip... ZZ and DunkEm know what that is...

My boss gave me this the other day for a 'fidget' object at work to make me more productive :D

Apparently its been sitting in his desk for 15 or so years. He gave it to me knowing I appreciate sharp pointy things :D he's awesome to work for

So a buddy of mine is pissed off because the place he works just came out with a policy for zero tolerance if any one is caught with a gun or a knife of any kind on the property. Hes as much as a prepper as he ca be, and taking his gun or knife for that matter makes him very uncomfortable. He doesn't feel (and I don't blame him)-that he should have to give up his right to defend himself if need be, he said he can halfway understand the on property gun rule, but the last draw was taking his knife. Even making his old Case knife his Grandpa gave him grounds to lose his job....... So, he came to me. Ironically with a handful of scrap materials from stuff his company produces....... I machined him a big handful of F!#K U! Gonna make a kydex carrier for it tomorrow..

I want one, contact me if you sell these things. Bad ass

Best boss ever [emoji106]

Maybe ;) The knife itself is pretty interesting. Better quality then some chinese bali's that I've played with before. Its a little stiff but I'm going to give it a little love. Blade grinds are meh, but I'll fix the edge. All in all a pretty cool gift :D I just might make it my desk knife.

I like to just flip open and close mine, but for some reason that makes people uncomfortable.....though it calms me. I, too, feel uncomfortable not having a knife on me. Unfortunately, I work in a state that has some rules.....but I just grin and ignore them, mostly....just not with anything expensive.

Like Psy said, check out the Nikons. I really, really like the Nikon P 223. I've got the straight 3 power on an AR and it's good.

Redfield Revenge, Vortex, Bushnell Banner -- all 3 are good lower end scopes.
