I'm a little late to smells - new books, spring in the PNW, and a clean man. (stole from Guyon and Johnny a little but you guys had good ideas)

Also I just wanted to give a shoutout to crimsonfalcon who got be back in gold when I mentioned it to him how much I missed it. He wasn't obligated to but was just being nice and I really, really appriciate it.

Fluffed and buffed my new 17 tonight. First the electro-chem etching treatment, then some liners and Micarta scales I got for FREE with KaBar Kash.....then a few trips over the K.O. WS and voila! Now all it needs is to get stripped....and maybe buffed some more.

Nick, have you looked at the Redfield stuff? They were bought-redone by Leupold a few years ago. I wanted one for my .30-30. Not sure if they have what you need, but for awhile they looked like the best US-made budget scope you could by, and a good deal even in the international market.

Looked at them. I'm looking more for a reflex style optic. I've got a tru glow on out right now, and not happy. I do like the three color choice on it but that's pretty much it.

Nikon is worth looking at as well as Burris.

Like Psy said, check out the Nikons. I really, really like the Nikon P 223. I've got the straight 3 power on an AR and it's good.

Seconded. Also... Leupold. Swarovski.

I never thought of Nikon. I'll go check them out.
I looked at Leopold but didn't see what I was looking for.

I'm thinking my budget is between $200-300.

Yeah I'm showing how much I don't know about guns and optics. :)

Smells - nitro solvent gun cleaner [/QUOTE]

Hoppes #9 is my aftershave. I hear it's good on guns too.
