Not so much worried about the bro'....he likes beer and chocolate. 24 hrs. is plenty of time. Sister, OTOH....as much as I would like her to be the kind of sister who would just roll with the whole lizard gift thing - - well, she's not. (here is where the edit comes in so I don't say something on the permanent record of th' interwebz that I may someday wish to recant.....). She's just..........not. And she doesn't like beer, so no killing of two birds. She doesn't like beer......Sometimes I wonder if she's really my real sister. So you can see, that makes it extra challenging to choose some sort of a gift that won't engender suspicion or a desire for retribution.

This is why I'm grateful most of my family and I have stopped exchanging gifts. Call 'em on Christmas day and all is right with the world. No worrying about shopping for stuff that if they really wanted they would have already bought themselves.
 
Pretty stoked about getting to see my son Friday. He's returning from Colorado for a week. Miss Christmas by a day, but he'll be here for his birthday, so it's all good.

That's awesome. I can't imagine how much I'm going to miss the kids when the move out.



In other news, I'm not overly thrilled to see the return of the Database Error around here. I thought everything was fixed.

Gus has set me off on a nostalgic music trip.

Just bought an mp3 version of the first vinyl I ever bought - "The Grand Illusion" by Styx.

I'm not sure whether I'm getting old or just plain and simple already am.

Good times.
 
Hey Dubz, (and Tradewater if you spot this) I need some advice, on places between St. Louis and Springfield that are good for a day hike... Possibly leading to a camp but definitely a day hike.

Ahhh, good old age. I already know I'm old; AARP has been sticking their pins in my doll for a couple years now. Not ancient, mind, but just kinda on the tail end of middle age. My first was (probably.....) Rush's Permanent Waves. I had




.....sorry, had a bit of a flashback there. Holy $#!+, that's powerful. Geddy's voice has changed so much since then. I might be old, but I still like to rock.....nowadays, tho, I have to be careful not to pull a muscle or something.
