Got many moons ahead of me before im debt free. At least 15 years for my new mortgage LOL

My wife plans on going to nursing schoool next year as well. She is a licensed... Something or another.. Its not a CNA... Damn i cant even remember what she is now.... But its not a nurse, she does give shots and draw blood though and wear those cute nurses outfits that i love hehe :D ... But she plans to become full RN and start school next year. She already contacted a school/s down in florida and all. I dont know all the specifics (obviously) But i know she will be putting more on her student loans to do this from what she said.

I owe around 3 grand left that i financed for my oral surgery. And i got a regular credit card with about $150 left to pay off. Thats it. But my wife has all her student loans with more to come, few credit cards... And will likely end up having to finance a newer car before too long....

Of course i got a house mortgage now... But like you said AC... Im happy to pay that. Hell its $350 a month less than what i paid here for rent. Bigger house and way more land... To own it... I will be kissing the payment as i make it happy to give it away LOL....

But i will likely have to finance to get a workshop too.... Id rather not have to finance it of course, but ill take finance over not getting it LOL

LPN. Misti graduates and becomes one on July 10th. Next summer she will be an RN. She's in a really tough, fast paced program and, but is at the top of her class and up until a month ago, was still working full-time. She is busy as hell, which is part of the reason I leave her and have been fishing so much lately.

I can't wait to get a house. I own a trailer house now and it needs work, but I hate to stick too much into it and not get it back out. It will be nice to have a garage and a fenced in yard for the pooch to run around in.

I'll never finance another car. Period. Actually I'll never use credit again except maybe a 15 Year mortgage on a house one day but that is it. No credit cards, auto loans, student loans, none of it. loans are just not worth the headache and stress.

I'll likely be buying a car for Misti in the next few years. It sucks, but these smaller cars like her Stratus, just aren't built to last. Hers is at 85,000 miles and already needs suspension work and the motor sounds like a diesel on cold winter mornings. My pickup will likely be mine for a long time and I expect it will be good for a long time.

In other news, I'm booking a guided fish trip for catfish on the Red River for some time in early to mid July. It should be pretty fun. I vaguely remember doing it a few times when I was pretty young, but have no idea what to do, so figured a guide would be good. Hopefully we catch a lot and I'd probably like to keep a couple to try, but really am going to just have a good time.

Eta: Misti put us on a diet and bacon isn't part of it. I told her I was out, but she said I couldn't couldn't opt out. Lost 5 or 6 pounds last week, so I guess maybe there is something to it. Ate a cheeseburger without a bun one day last week......that was weird. I actually get to eat a decent amount of food though, so it hasn't been too bad. Oddly enough, I get a New York Strip this week, so I'll enjoy that day for sure.

Nothing wrong with that right there at all. Sounds wonderful actually. And a lot easier for a bachelor.

Man im not even going to start thinking about fencing. The perimeter is something like 1300' but one side is fenced for my sisters property and ill likely just join up to that fence... Well unless they dont want me to, but i seriously doubt that'll be the case. Hell they did the same thing with my fathers fence LOL.

But still it leaves over 1000 foot. Then at least 1 large gate and 1 walk-way gate through my sisters side.

My father and brother in law both used cut to size telephone poles as fence posts. Got them free. Hopefully i can get enough as well. That'll save the majority of the cost especially if i just go with field fencing over chain-link... And be way stronger and longer lasting than small wood fence post.

Errrr... I just said i wasnt going to start thinking about it LOL

I'm hoping for a pre-fenced yard. Whatever I end up with will likely only be a few hundred feet or less. Not a thousand freaking feet! I'd actually live to live in the country, but I don't know if it will be feasible or not. Snow removal would have to be a priority, but the equipment to do that to a large yard, driveway, and possibly gravel road can be pretty damn expensive.

That said though, im not in a huge rush on fencing.

Until i get my fence put up i have already asked if it would be OK for me to bring over Neko to let him run on my father side... Hell he has never once gotten to run free, off any type of leash or harness... Except in our little outside backyard area thats 12X15 or so... And I have seen single dog crates bigger than that before LOL

I told my father... It will be the first time in history he doest bring a ball back when thrown... He will go get it... Then ill probably have to corner him on the property to catch him when its time to take him home LOL

They have a separate fenced in area where he could hold his dogs or let them inside for a while in case they dont play nicely. I wont leave him over there either... Just a couple hours here and there.

Ill get a tether or something for my property until i get a fence up. But his house is only 500 feet or so away so its not like ill have to drive somewhere to let him really run often.

Its going to be nice being close to family in a lot of ways... Not so nice though when some stupid dispute comes up though... Thats one thing i brought up with my folks before agreeing to buy this house so close to them. It was there idea, they told me the people that sold it came to them first... I let them know honestly, I dont want anyone thinking because we live that close that we cant have our own privacy when we want it. Im grown now too, i dont need or want anyone telling me how to live my life either. Just concerns i personally had moving back close to family. I mean they know i drink sometimes, know i enjoy a lefty here and there... But im sure the most of us have parents in one sort or the other..... And im sure most of us udults would like privacy from our parents sometimes HAHA!!

Well the sun is coming up. I should at least close my eyes for an hour or so.

Yes pre-fenced are awesome LOL!!!

Oh hell, i can only imagine snow removal... Man, glad i wont have to deal with that... Will have to mow it though... But i can handle that.

Space from the family is definitely good at times. Sounds like you have that figured out.

Yeah I hear ya brother. My wife and I just bought a car each that we both paid outright with cash but we'd both been saving for ages and we sure as heck needed them. My civic was basically threatening me to not pull up at the lights near the end!

As for buying a house, we'd both love to (a little farm back in the country is what we really want) but loaning that much scares my bollocks off. I, unfortunately, am just a sh!t kicker and have no real skills or qualifications and owing that much money to an entity that can very well kick me and my family out if payments are missed (if I lost my job for instance) is truly daunting.

Currently, our housing market is in a chronic bubble. House prices here are beyond ridiculous for the smallest of fart shacks but the interest rate is at an all time low. When it all guess down the pooper there will be massive ramifications. Truly worries me. I just want to own a nice little slice of land out in the sticks with a body of fresh water that my wife and I can can farm. Looks like that will only ever be a dream. Sucks.

That suck about not getting the jobs, but becoming debt free will be an amazing feeling for sure. The only thing I owe on is my Tundra and a very small amount on a credit card that I use just to help out my credit score. Misti, on the other hand owes some medical debt and is accumulating a bunch of student loan debt. As soon as she become an RN next summer, we are going to get really aggressive and kick her debts butt. A house will be our ultimate goal once we work on that, bit that's a debt I wont mind paying on.
Car loans and mortgages aren't technically debt, because they're collateralized by cars and houses. Walk away from either and the bank repossesses; the payments won't follow you. Credit cards, OTOH....not so much.
I don't have debt, either.....but I AM running a "budget deficit" ;).

When i got out the army and wasnt working, we lost 2 cars to repossession, the banks took them back, but the debt stayed on our credit.

Ray. You're right. Here you go..

I seriously doubt it had any effects on mine... We weren't careful 2 times in 10 years.... And we have 2 kids that trace back exactly to the 2 nights we weren't careful...

Safe to say, I ALWAYS pull out now. Kids make great birth control :D

Obviously it's easier for someone with fewer expenses. But it's even more important for someone with dependents.

As far as kids, I'm sure glad I don't have any. Being a dad would be awesome, but so is my current situation. Either way that goes is fine by me.

Sorry. Don't know how my brain can even get 2 neurons to fire at once, let alone form coherent thoughts....oh - hold on -

...I might be sobering up. This. Is. Bad. News.

I know what you mean, I'm a senior this upcoming year then go to college, and I'm not entirely sure how we're going to pay for it. My parents have already taken out lot to pit my older siblings through school, and they both have large student loan amounts to pay off, so I'd rather not have to go through all that. Recently I was looking into joining the national guard, according to what I've read they will pay tuition and room and board to any state school.

That's one way to do it. I read about a girl who spent months researching and applying for scholarships. She had to submit a mountain of applications but in the end she had 100% of everything paid for. Tuition, books, food, housing, everything without borrowing one cent. My understanding is that there is a lot of available money out there that doesn't get dolled out because nobody asks for it. Or there was the guy that launched a nationwide campaign to get everyone in America to send him one penny to pay for college.

I don't plan to do any more than community college (if that). I don't want to sell the first major part of my independent life to college fees, and I don't care if I get rich. Just want a small house, a few dogs, and as much simplicity as possible.

I'd recommend that if that's your plan, look into trade Schools or vocational schools as well. Welding, mechanics, metal fab Etc
