Obviously it's easier for someone with fewer expenses. But it's even more important for someone with dependents.
As far as kids, I'm sure glad I don't have any. Being a dad would be awesome, but so is my current situation. Either way that goes is fine by me.
Nothing wrong with being a bachelor. You can have great times, whenever you want!
I don't plan to do any more than community college (if that). I don't want to sell the first major part of my independent life to college fees, and I don't care if I get rich. Just want a small house, a few dogs, and as much simplicity as possible.
There would be a lot of people who try and convince you to aspire for more. To me... That sounds like a great, peaceful and happy life!!
Recently I was looking into joining the national guard, according to what I've read they will pay tuition and room and board to any state school.
I tell every young man i know, see, or talk to about this option if they are talking about school. The military has a lot of BS involved i want lie about any of it... But the good out weight the bad a lot of the times and regardless of ANY of that.... serving your country is something to be proud of and looked up at for!
I had a friend who joined up to get the Army to pay off like 40 grand in student loans too.. So its possible to go in reverse as well. He had to agree to serve 4 years active for full payment... But the job we both picked required a minimum of 5 years anyways because a year and a half of that was special training in different locations.
But you can get free schooling for way less commitment and still be doing something good for your country and get some valuable training while your younger in life... Not to mention stories that will last the rest of your life!
One of... -THE- absolute best option for younger men who want schooling and dont want to or cant go through other means.
