My Google-Fu is weak tonight. Can anyone tell me how to actually post the video this links to?

FWIW - it's worth the click, esp for you axe/hatchet & baking people.

AFAICT, it won't work, not without some hacking, Dunk. Basically the video is private (took a brief look at the code) and the link is a null java tag. Cool video, tho.

Well the gun show was a bust, turns out it was last weekend  so we went to bass pro I stead, got a camel bak bottle punch and some more ammo for my 30-30

Nice. I need to get started on my 336 build. And all my other builds. I think the only one I've finished is my 12ga backpacker and when I got that done I realized I wanted to change some stuff.

Why doesn't anyone at walmart know their job? First the lady working sporting goods would only sell me two boxes of 9mm even though the store isn't rationing ammo, then the woman behind the deli counter screwed up my order twice.

luck of the draw?

sometimes you get a good one.

how do you know local store policy? i'd just hit a manager, and inquire politely...

my store changed their minds three times twice in one day :D

as to your order, you were mad at the ammo lady, and they passed the word, to ruin your deli

Mmmm...love a 336. this is an '89 real Marlin. Heard unsavory reviews of the Remlins unless they've corrected their production issues...
Came across an .35 at a pawn shop a couple of weeks ago for $375...too bad I'm broke lol

Hey NC, I just won a Corpsman's Bolo on the bay. I'll now have a pattern to work with.

I've been wanting to get a 336, mines a winchester 94

'94's a good rifle. Main selling point for me is I like the look of the 336's curved grip. The solid top receiver is pretty good too.

I buy ammo there often enough I have a good idea what the policy is. Only sign about ammo is a limit of 3 boxes of rimfire ammo per person. Nothing about centerfire and they have plenty of it. Didn't feel like bothering to wait for a manager on a Sunday morning only to get another person who doesn't know anything. Nobody knows anything about anything.

Yeah I have heard those are hit-or-miss. Mine is not old but it's pre-Remington.

Dude, that's awesome! Can't wait to see the final results! I saw one the other day that had been field modified to a clip point, looked interesting. Keep us posted on the progress!

Yeah, love the pistol grip too. Main selling point for me was the side eject for scope mounting. Researched for a long time and took close to a year to find exactly what I was looking for. In my research I found time and time again where folks had theirs passed down through the family and others had sold theirs and really regretted it and bought another. Just everything I read was the pre '96 is just great all-around.

I've always meant to buy a good lever action rifle. If I ever do it will pprobably be chambered in 357 or 45.

I'm in the second camp. Friend of mine bought one about 10 years ago when they were only $265 brand new at walmart. He put a box of shells through it over 4 or 5 years and got married. They were expecting their first so he sold it to me for $200. I shot a box or two through it and then moved so I sold it since it never got shot. Couple years later I came to the conclusion no self-respecting "gun guy", hunter, and outdoorsman doesn't have at least one .30-30 lever action so I went out and found another 336. I have a whole plan for it but I have so many plans for everything...

I have the rifle and a Leupold 2-7 kicking around. I want to get some quick-release rings and a XS scout rail. Right now I'm trying to get debt-free and I don't really hunt at the moment so it's just collecting dust.

I would really like to have a .357 and a .44 or .45 carbine but I'm not terribly excited about the options currently on the market.

Also need to get me a .45-70 when I move to Alaska.

The top eject was one of the reasons I went went with 94, I shoot leftie, so if I can get a gun that doesn't send a flying peice of hot metal past my face, I'll take it
