"uninformed"? That's below the belt...play fair now, you don't know what I know, you can only guess my opinion, agree to disagree, or explore the others point of view,

My apologies, that wasn't meant to you personally. More of a broad statement based on the view of many that go along with the general consensus without fact (with regards to hunting or wildlife control).

If folks want to argue political stances on hunting, then by all means pony up for a paid membership and use the Political subforum. Bias is going to run about 99-1 pro-hunting in this subforum anyway, and we don't want to get into issues of dogpiles or accusations of trolling. Please take it to the right venue in the first place.

As I said a couple of pages back, I rehandled an old and overly used axe head from my father, as well as a head I picked up in a second hand store for like 3 euro. I'm not the best rehandled, but with some sawing, cutting and sanding I managed to get in done nonetheless. Oh, and lots of wd40. Sorry for the overly dramatic pics.

That type of lens always makes it look like one is dealing with miniatures. I picture those being so very wee. ;)

Need to start packing for philmont today, leave on wednesday. I am extremely nervous

Stay hydrated, be mindful of your surroundings and the state of others. Other than that, have a blast, that place is (from what I hear) absolutely awesome! You should head to the Summit at some point to check out what the East Coast has to offer.

I have that effect on my GIMP program. It does make it look like miniatures. Here's a few examples I did:

Everyone I've talked to as agreed that it is an awesome expeirence, and I'd like to go to summit sometime. I'll be over that way later this summer, I'm staying at the University of Michigan for NOAC, and then we might be going to Johnson City to visit my brother

Nice axes GShark. Reminds me I gotta get off my ass and rehang a couple of my own one of these days.

Good luck Spike! Should be a fun time.

Damn those pics are way cool Dubz. Neat stuff.

As The Warrior said, not a lens, merely an effect.
Here's the original as well as another.

The handles are, in fact, more similar to the tone in the edited pic than the light tone of the unedited pics.

Edit: thanks aiki!

Cool vid someone posted up on the ESEE forum:

Right. It's on. Like Donkey Kong. WAR HAS BEEN DECLARED! Beginning the 8th of July Australia and England will be at it again for the monumentally grand and spectacularly prestigious ASHES Test Cricket Series. Five tests, five days per test. 25 EPIC days of the glorious gentleman's game!

So, to all you Poms here in this marvelous little corner we (I) call Beckerburg (jius, wurger190, Anthony-UK etc.) We are coming to get you! Yes, it's true, we haven't won an Ashes series on your soil for what seems like forever but we have it now and we'll fight tooth and nail to keep it where it belongs.. on hallowed Aussie ground!

Bring it on England! Oh yeah, that's right, dems fightin words!
I'm not sure what all this post means, but I'm pretty sure this is the first time I've ever heard anyone talk smack about Cricket.

But then again I haven't heard much talk about Cricket at all.

What's a Pom?

it's a shorter and slightly more polite version of an unkind reference to the denizens of England and their supposed illegitimacy.

Me too. I didn't want to rain on his parade, but I seriously don't know much about Cricket other than it can last forever and have really high scores.

I'm intrigued, please enlighten me, (with setting off the fire detectors, cuz there seems to be some over sensitive folks on these boards)

we're not over sensitive. we're mods. there are over reaching rules for the entirety of bladeforums, and there are sub-forum rules. we're here to keep SOME peace.

once you cross a grey line into various political/contentious/emotional talk that per by laws, we ask that it moves "over there", as it's no longer appropriate. we're not even rules lawyers about it sometimes, but when we request such, it's probably a good idea to heed.

wanna blow out bambi's brains cuz it's fun? good for you! contentious talk about it? how about it "over there" in the proper forum where loud voices and screaming are encouraged with cheer leaders and naked babes :D
