Well, this weekend was a blast! My troop and a few other troops got together this weekend and had some really cool competitions. There was a fire competition that we knocked out of the park. Our time was 31 seconds, and the second place was like, 2 minutes......:D I was walking around with my ESEE 4 (sorry guys, but my BK16 is just too thin for the wood harvesting I was doing, and I could only pack one knife, soooooo) and some guy stopped me, and asked after it! Then he pulls out his Laser strike. I asked him about Benchmade as I was gulling out my Mini-grip, and he Says "you mean like this? as he pulls out his full Grip. I told him about this place, and he seemed interested......

one of those days of back breaking labor...

to be followed by a weak of mental drain

i love my life :D

How the heck do you Skype? Is there a free download somewhere?

Jeremy

You can download and use the messenger for free i believe. But it cost money to use it to make and receive calls from landlines and mobiles and it cost money to get a phone number. But its really really cheap. Like a couple bucks a month or something like that. I paid for an entire years worth and i think it was like 30 bucks. It works like a regular phone for me now.

That's awesome MM! A few week ago we had an OA fellow ship and I brought my bk10 when I pulled it out half the kids started oohing and aweing while the other half freaked out at how big it was, and the only other knives there was a BG survival knife and a couple budk's

O! M! G!

That is all.

I broke out the Smokey Joe tonight and grilled a ribeye and a couple pork chops. I always forget now much I love grilling with charcoal instead of propane.

Hey WW, maybe I will just call you at some point. That Skype stuff looks to weird for me.

The Smokey Joe is my all time favorite grill. Finally bought a new one this spring. Nothing wrong with the old one we've had forever, just wanted a shiny new one. :D

Its a great little grill for sure. I use it at home and it goes with us whenever we go camping too. It doesn't take up too much space, so its easy to take it with.

No problem... But you dont need skype yourself. You can use your cell phone and just dial 267-535-2700 like any regular number your calling.

Or whenever you want send me a PM and ill give you a regular cell phone number. But it works the same.

Mine's probably 25 years old, and still going strong. Great little grills.

Cool day today, started out got to be a part of my kids principals retirement party at church. 44 years as principal. Another 10 years before that as a teacher at the same school. If that's not impressive enough. Its the very school that she (principal) went to from first grade on. A lot of history there. Sad to see her call its quits......

Came home, been in the shop for the day, got a couple of really cool Tradewaters done ready go out., Murph came buy and we got a lot more cutting and profiling done. Wifey made and hand delivered of us spaghetti dinner.....didn't ask her to, but damn, it was good., we finished up some work, we (Murph and I came in) had home made popcorn and watched the new walking dead.
I cant find anything about my day today to bitch about. Its all work, but today was a day that was nothing more than me being surrounded by good people doing what I love. Got some stuff done too.... lol. Today was a good day.

I slept all day and now I'm pulling OT. I'll have to do about two hours of actual work and the rest of the time I'll be sitting in a truck surfing the interwebz. Not quite as fun as your day but still good.

Just catching up from this weekend...

Trade, that is entirely TOO badass sir! Thank you for your not service!

What is a Smokey Joe? I've never seen these, or at least not called that.

MM, it's all alright, around these parts we ALL love steel, not just the Beckers. We just love the Beckers the most :D This was what all I had with me this weekend:

Looks like you forgot a few.....;)

There's the Weber Grills "Smokey Joe", kinda like a miniature classic Weber Grill. I think they come in a couple of sizes.

Weber Grills Smokey Joe Grill.jpg

And then there is a predecessor, the Old Smokey Grill (Old Smokey Grills have been around since dirt was clean). We got one of these back in the late 60s, wore it out and got another around 1986, and then got another about Y2K. Can probably get another 5 or 6 out of it. They come in multiple sizes, (e.g., #14, #18, etc)

With any of these grills, one of the keys to keeping them from rusting out before their time is to completely remove the ashes after they cool down and clean them out, letting them dry thoroughly before storage. Any ashes left in them will absorb water, creating lye, which will accelerate rot out.
