Slicey! Sharpened up nicely, I love doing that with my knives after a sharpening, showing my friends how sharp they are. Even the cardboard didn't slow it down.

Yeppers, drink a few beers and next thing ya know your knife is sliding through cardboard like nothing LOL

Loving the 14 modded like this.

Speaking of slicey, this is the set of Global cooking knives the Missus got for me....
Global 3 Piece.jpg

They came razor sharp and are great to use. I'll have to take some "in use" photos soon.
Speaking of cooking, who here uses a pressure cooker? Picked one up a few months ago and love it to bits! I can do a lamb roast in just over 20 minutes, with the meat falling apart and full of flavour. Chilli, curry and stews also come out great.

I think you'll like those Global knives. We've been using some for about 15 years - they're very nice.

+1 on the pressure cooker. I'm always amazed at how quickly and effectively it can cook certain food.

I'm still in recovery from the weekend. This was the last weekend of camping with the "wussies"... Till spring it will be most likely me doing camps alone. Had a decent enough time but there were a couple there that aren't being invited out again. Enough about all that though, on to some stuff...

This was while we were out on the boat, the leaves were changing and it was gorgeous. It was weird to see the leaves changing right before your eyes!

Air temp was 55, boat was moving at 35, and there was an additional 15 mph wind... Yes I covered up so I didn't freeze!

We did a li'l bush crafting™ to get the fire going

again people asked for a "recipe" of how to make breakfast hash...

I am dumbfounded every time!

And finally, camp wouldn't be camp without a cast iron pot full of chili

Video or it didnt happen :p

Snap!

my cellphone sucks for that, and the wife wont let me touch her 'baby' (some crazy expensive DSLR). One day when we don't have to wrestle the kiddos I'll try and make one.

Nice slicey 14 there WW

looks like a fun camping trip Cbear

I think I've created a monster...I've passed on my love for all things sharp and pointy to my brother inlaw. In the past two weeks he's purchased a neck knife, a Katana, and today he texted me asking to go with him to SR again to buy one of these!

Looks like fun cbear. The wife and I will be headed out for a little camping in a few weeks.

I was gonna try to get out to Vik's gathering next month. I'm not sure now though, cause of work. If I don't I'll be getting another trip in later on. I do know for sure I'm getting a cabin over Christmas break. That's gonna be fun!

Looks neat. I doubt I'll be getting into and hand-to-hand combat so I'd like to see the back flattened out where that point is.

Yeah, I personally like the ones with the flat backs. Something that has more utility and can be used as a hammer.

Uhhgh, stomach is feelin a little rough this morning. So was my daughters, hope were not getting some kind of a bug. :(

In other news...... is anybody here fans of the old Schwinn Stingray bicycles? I always had a soft spot for them. There big amonst collectors now. Cant touch one in mint condition for less than a few grand. Anyways, I justed to pick them up anytime I saw one at a yard sale here and there. Thought maybe id restore one someday. Havnt fooled with them since I had kids.

So, up in the attic I've had a few big boxes of just old sitngray bike parts collecting dust. No running bikes, just piles of parts. My son took interest in the boxes when he spotted them up there a couple of months ago. Asked if he could mess around with them. I thought it would be a cool learning activity for him so I said yes. I did not help him at all other than put new tubes in the tires for him. I gave him a little corner in my shop just to see if he could make something work. Low and behold, last night for the first time he rode a bike that he 100% figured out and assembled himself. I was pretty proud of him. While a lot of kids his age sit on there butts in front of the T.V. he was out in the shop trying to figure out and make something work. Good boy.

He even jazzed it up with some custom lights, lol. He rode this thing all day yesterday.

That's awesome Todd! possibly some engineering in that boys future ;)

Thanks, I added a few pics ^^^. Hes a pretty sharp kid. I love how he is interested in mechanical stuff. Hes pretty good with his imagination and his hands. It will be interesting to see what he does with it.

The bike rides pretty good. The goose neck isnt right but it works until I can get a correct one. I also have the chrome finders he wants on it but didnt have the mounting bolts. But other than that. It was all him. I think maybe Murph helped him tighten a few nuts and bolts here and there but thats it.

Sweet bike! Let him know that there is a bike nut in Maine that is wicked envious!

I have always wanted an old Schwinn bike. I sometimes see them at yard sales but they are so rusted out or beat up from a barn falling on them, and they want too much for them. They look great from far away though.

More pics when it is complete please!
