Happy birthday B. Mauser! How old are you? Maybe get the one closest to your age. Or both if they add up to be closer.

Thank you DunkEm. My birthday was Tuesday but this is the first payday following it. I am 44.

My wife is calling me Fogey Four. I definitely like the both idea.

Buy all teh knifes!!!

Another very smart guy with a wonderful suggestion. :D

This.

But since you just got a 21, maybe a 24 to pair with it :D

And another fine suggestion. I am very interested in trying out D2. The idea of a Becker in different steel is pretty appealing and I have never had anything in D2. But the BK5 seems like so much more knife for $5 more that the 24. And I love the 15 so much I know I will enjoy that 5.

Damn I spent enough $ on powerball tickets in the last 2 weeks to buy the BK24.

So this happened yesterday...

Notification of shipping this morning.

Right now I'm halfway in between convinced I've been totally ripped off...

-or-

I just lucked into an incredible score at a ridiculous price.

Will find out Saturday.

So where is the good news? You busy chopping things up?

Mauser Chat. All Mauser all the time..or until he passes out. Drinking rootbeer with alcohol in it. Its called not your fathers root beer. pretty good.

That stuff is a little dangerous. I can't drink more than one, though....too much of a regular beer fan. YAY for a little Saturday night "fever". I'm drinking the "Goose" - Goose Island IPA.

Actually, that "Not Your Father's Root Beer" is the only beer my sister will drink. I don't even know how we are related, other than I remember my mom coming home from the hospital with her. She doesn't like beer, she freaks out whenever I open a folder within earshot....I mean, seriously - how am I going to injure you with a knife from across the damn living room? She does, however, love the knife I made her (kit knife) for her birthday last year. Happy birthday week, Maus!

It did come today and sure enough, it's the real deal. No chance for pics today, will get some tomorrow.

It's in great shape with original box. Wait til you see how it was shipped though. Pics tomorrow.

Hey Mauser...I just got the 24 and I'm really liking it. My first D2 Blade as well. On that note...its pretty much just a 14...the 5 is a whole different animal than all others. I suggest grabbing one and wait on the 24. There's really no next best thing to the 5, the next best to the 24 is the 14 and that's debatable.

Also, if the 24 is indeed discontinued, you may catch it on discount and regret paying full price.

44 = 24 + 5 + 15

Hope you got a lot of cash for your birthday.

I don't know why everybody bags on ebay. I've gotten some really great deals there and never had a serious problem with a seller. Almost always as described. I would neva eva buy a knife that has been cloned to death there but besides that your ok i believe. Was looking up some Spydercos there earlier tonight and its just sad how many people get suckered by that. I wont buy any Spydercos anymore that know there are clones of cause they are just to hard to tell apart, same with ZT clones that have certain cerial numbers.

That's awesome. I'm psyched that you got such a good deal, and it went to someone who can appreciate it. Looking forward to the pics.

Yeah I normally dont like sweet beer. Especially the fruity ones. But I love coke dr pepper and root beer. I am supposed to be limiting sugar after a few high blood sugar readings. Trying to eat healthier and that boring stuff. But I decided I'm doing anything I want my Birthday week, then going to be good again. So I climbed the meat mountain to start the festivities. Ordered Chinese food yesterday. Then went out for greasy cheeseburgers and A bunch of soda this afternoon and ended up on the not your fathers rootbeer tonight.

My last hurrah is tomorrow when I will be going to Voodoo Doughnuts and eating myself sick. I'm trying to get up the nerve to do their giant doughnut challenge. They have a glazed doughnut that weighs the same as 6 donuts. Its free if you can eat it in 80 seconds. Pretty sure I can do it....dont like being sticky and messy though.

Hopefully I will be so sick after that I will have no trouble getting my diet back on track. :barf::chuncky:

I used to know someone who got real nervous around knives. I always wondered about that. That's cool your sister liked the knife you made her though. I thought about giving my sister a knife this Christmas but I knew it would just end up in a box or drawer untouched. So I had my wife pick her out some girly make up crap and I got her husband a Machax. He loved it. :)

am i seeing dealspotting again?

looks close...

You gotta let us know how the doughnut thing turns out! And, of course, pics or it didn't happen!

I know I can kill 6 Krispy Kremes in a minute, but they're very light and delicious when fresh. Nasty, frozen, rehashed dunkin donuts, that's another story... I'm pretty sure they don't even make them in house anymore. I figure they're half baked or something and thrown into an oven or what not.

You can watch Krispy Kreme fry them. Just don't try anything besides glazed. Their icing is gross and they glaze AND ice them, complete overkill and seriously too sweet.

I'm in Myrtle Beach this weekend visiting my mom and there's a really good shop here I'm hitting in the AM.
REAL fried doughnuts with nice creamy icing and not greedy on fillings. KK and Dunkin are notorious for the one tiny dab in the middle.

Ok...doughnut rant over...
But really is it that hard!?

Dang blatite, that's weird...I just came accross that pic about an hour ago on an image search...

Tried to reply to you twice here. Bladeforums keeps going offline and then losing my reply when I hit submit... Or bladite is banning and unbanning me over and over again...

Ok third try...

Haha Yeah I will let you know how it goes at VooDoo. They are open 24/7. Im lucky they are 35 miles away from me.

I completely agree about Krispy Kreme. The glazed the good ones, and really amazing when they are hot. I dont like any other doughnut there. Did you know they have a smartphone app that tells you when the hot doughnut sign is on? I dont have it, I dont need that torture. I keep hearing Duncan doughnuts sucks now. Haven't been to one in at least 10 years.

That doughnut place you are going tomorrow sounds amazing! Have a great time. I wish there were more good places like that.

Thinking it might be a good day to take the kids up north a bit. :D going to call my brother. Maybe take the snowmobiles out on the lawn

You are living the life man. Fishing in January. I love the the look of Florida woods. Those saw palmettos everywhere.

We should start an "exchange" program.

You come down during the winter to play for a bit, then I go over there during the summer to enjoy yalls freedoms for a bit... We just need to talk someone else into paying for this program :D

Wife and kids are going to visit family in Philly for a week during the summer.... So I looked into flights to both Washington and Colorado, but man flying is expensive. I could drive... But half my vacation would be driving then.

I may end up just sitting in the woods, only thing is certain is I have no interest going back to Philly. Ever.

Hmmm my head hurts for some strange reason today. I hope I dont go yak this giant doughnut up.

That exchange program sounds like a great idea. :) I can understand not wanting to go back to Philly.
