I'll jump on the Paypal hate wagon. TBH, been there for years. I use Amazon Payments, which is free, as an alternative. Paypal will never get my business again.

I love PayPal. I would have a real hard time making my mortgage payments if I did not deal with PayPal. YMMV.

Wait til she turns 14 and thinks she knows everything, lol... my daughter is 14 going on 18..

Tell me about it! That first time your 'little princess' tells you not to walk near her at the mall ... crushed like a can. :(

I'm right here with you, gentlemen.

See, If my daughter ever said that to me I'd totally go out of my way to try to embarrass her just a little bit.

You say that now, TBL. Lemme know how that works out for ye when it actually happens. Y'know the saying "Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned"? Multiply that pain by about a thousand when it's your own daughter turning her back and calling you a big dumb asshole.

Girls are just plain weird. It's a whole different ballgame from raising a boy... boys, you can basically treat like livestock with slightly-above-average
intelligence (as compared to a sheep or steer or chicken, but definitely less smart than a good dog). Keep 'em fed, keep 'em busy, and try to keep 'em from making horrible mistakes. When they foul up, just smack 'em upside the head and give 'em a stern talking-to.

Heck, look at Noswad; he's not super bright, but he's doing alright so far... :p :D

The level of emotional/irrational stuff that goes on in the female brain starts real early (long before puberty), and it never goes away. No man can "control" that. It just is what it is; much of the time all you can do is get the heck out of the way and hope for the best.

Knock on wood. I have never had a bad experience with PayPal. As a matter of fact, it's pretty much responsible for about 60% of my income right now. I dont know of any policies they have that are that outlandish or different from any other similar services. Maybe im missin somethin?

Can confirm. My parents use that method and it works wonders. Sometimes I start clucking and eating stuff off the ground, but that's always right before they smack me on the noggin.

I had to close my PayPal account in my email address under my mother's name after they noticed a discrepancy in the SS# I entered with the name, my stupidity. I found the whole process of closing with a phone call to be relatively painless though they needed to speak with her as well.

Before I closed , I changed the email to one I never used and then opened a new account with all the same information under my name.

History is gone but woo

Paypal is great until they screw you. Then they'll screw you so hard that you'll never want to do business with them.

Todd, imagine that you've made something really gorgeous, and really expensive, such as that brass-back bowie. You sell it for however many thousands to some guy, after having him read and sign a disclaimer verifying he knows and understands your abuse and warranty policy. He pays via Paypal. Then he bashes it through some rebar, dings up the edge a bit, and insists that you make him a brand new one, despite such activity being clearly stated as being outside of warranty per your policy. You offer to have it shipped back and clean it up, out of the goodness of your heart. You do so, clean it up, have it perfect, and send it back. Days after getting it back, he does exactly the same thing, damages the knife again, and then insists you fully refund him because it "wasn't as advertised." At this point, you think your customer is a real schmuck, and you refuse. He files a chargeback, for which Paypal immediately credits him, takes the money out of your account, and charges you fees BOTH directions. So you're now paying Paypal fees for receiving AND returning the money. There's no stipulations made that he return the item, so you lose the money AND the knife AND have to pay double fees.

Now how do you feel about Paypal?

Well my mother was able to forward the package to me at no extra charge (thanks USPS!) so it should be here by next weekend so I can go up the mountain and play with it some and maybe make a YT video on it since that only ones I've seen are people goofing around with fruit and water bottles and simulated zombie heads. And my 710 sheaths are on their way as well. That Julio guy is fast.

Now that the weather is warming up and the snow seems to be melting off the mountain (from what I can tell by looking at the mountains anyway) I would like to try some over nighters and try out something I thought of last year. I want to try to spend 24 hours camping with only one blade/tool and use it for everything to really get a feel for it and build my own skills at the same time. I'd document it as much as I could and make a video series for my YT channel. I figure I'll start with my BK9 since I'm pretty familiar with it and I know I can do almost anything with it. Eventually trying small knives like a Mora and a BK14, and axe, and even just a Laplander saw.

After being monumentally pissed off, it would make me want to go USPS Money Order or Certified Bank Check/Money Order only.

Hah definitely truth right there. My boys = awesome.

My daughter has given me a hard time since she was born. To this day if I dont run out of the room after getting my kiss goodnight she starts trying to kick me out. We'll see how it goes and if I decide to change my mind ;) shes only 3 :P I still have time. I just need to start training her a little better :D

Got up with the kids this morning at 6:30 got em all ready and loaded up. Went to the zoo  Walked about 7 miles with one of the kids on my back (with the largest being 40lbs and the youngest being 25lbs) and pushing another in a stroller going through all the exhibits and checking out the animals. Uploading the pictures now... will see if there are some good ones tomorrow. I'm tired as all hell... think its going to be bed soon.

Well, I dont know what to say about that. If that happened to you I'd say yeah, that's definately is a bum deal. I'm just speaking of my experience. I have had no issues with them.

Pfft, then you have their address and go make a house call. Or depending how far away it is... call in a friend to make the house call for you ;) Todd can always call Murph for this :D

Something like this: (warning this video is not safe for work and has some potty mouth, do not click it if it may offend)

Knives. Damn them and their sharp beautifulness. I wish there weren't so many nice ones and that I had a less weak constitution about buying them. I know I should not look at the exchange. But, like many things I should not look at, I do. I'll have some pics up next week ;).

for a sales account: i feel that i don't keep money in the account, and i move it out asap. my linked bank account is used to move the money to an account that isn't linked. as well, i have overdraft protection (as in, not allowed). i don't link a credit card for that either. OR i have a second paypal account under my "wife's name", and i transfer the money there 'gift to relative'...

then i sue the schmuck, and smear his name on the forums? :D

or i don't use paypal for custom stuff. just "as is ebay merch", with a no return as is policy my pictures are part of the description ask questions caveat emptor buyer beware and no swaps...

seen too many scam artists

I didn't get so lucky :D Just as I was about to crack my beer I was called back into action. Who know actually doing flooring isn't like watching HGTV....:D

The 11 in action taking out the carpet. My new piece of forged carbon steel Stanly FatMax Fubar 3 wrecking bar assisting in baseboard removal (over kill yes, fun yes).

My helper and the tool of destruction.

almost thought that was a picture of mine, then i saw the midget juggalo? :D lol

not too many people seem to have the fubar-3, dunno why, fantastic piece of kit

Reserved the u-hual for the move today, just to make sure the one we want is available when the time comes. Thats costing $922... And thats for one you tow behind your own vehicle thats 6'X12'. Insane. I have used uhual before and it was way cheaper. But that was all in Texas, just going from el paso to midland, and then again midland to abilene. Lot further distance this time i know but hell i didnt expect $922 to rent a uhual trailer LOL

Is what it is. Gotta get stuff south. We closed on the house earlier today as well. Happened a couple weeks later than we originally thought but that was to save a little money by doing all the paperwork for 2 house sales at the same time. Not like it was urgent on my end. We are driving down July 17th. Plenty of time.... But until it was officially closed i had those worries in the back of my head that something would fall through... So its a breath of fresh air now that its official.

For that price you could probably BUY one. Congrats on the closings.

Congrats, WW.

Out of curiosity, I checked uhaul's web site and a July 17th El Paso to Midland (303 miles) rental of a 6x12 would be $194.

Philly to Orlando (SWAG - central peninsula) is 990 miles.

Based on mileage alone, that would about $694...... BUT......

Uhaul also charges based on WHERE the unit (trailer or truck) is being dropped off and where it is being picked up. Popular destinations are obviously charged MORE. One reason is because they can, because more people want to go "there", where ever the popular "there" is.

The other reason, and in some instances, the only reason, is that they gotta get the truck/trailer BACK TO WHERE IT WAS PICKED UP.

Example - the same 6x12 trailer---
Austin TX to Orlando FL --- $431 (1126.9 miles)
Bartlett TX to Orlando FL --- $494 (1126.3 miles)

Almost the same distance, just different starting points in the same state. Lots of people moving in and out of Austin. Who wants to move to/from Bartlett?? Not near as many. Somebody at Uhaul has to get paid to get another trailer back to Bartlett. :D

So ask yourself this question.... Who in their right mind would WANT to move to Philadelphia???? :D:D

Oh, the money was out of the account. But it still put an end to Paypal use, due to paypal account balance being negative, and also affected credit score. Many people go a long time with no issues, and as long as you remember that Paypal doesn't care about you, as long as they get their money in the end, you'll be fine. Myself, I use Amazon Payments for online business. It's free to set up an account, and there are no BS fees.

Thanks guys!!

Cbear, i dont know about buying a uhual at that price, but i do know there has been lots of cars sold for that price LOL

Damn ZZ, now you got me tempted to check prices if i pick up from surrounding cities LOL

Im going around 950 miles... For nearly a dollar a mile LOL

But moving FURTHER... from Austin Texas to Orlando is about half price??? That is crazy!! But you make a good point about who is going to bring it back LOL.

Now the actual cost is really 868 or so, then another 54 for "insurance" making the 922.. but still INSANE.
