Sodbuster...and lots of them!

Nice BB! Did you do those covers? Linen Micarta? Where did you get the Micarta?

LOL Luc. :D

brianv; I didn't do the mod on this. Forum member Glennbad gets all the credit. I only spec'd what I wanted for covers. It's Canvas Micarta, not linen. The canvas shows the weave of the layers of Micarta more than linen.

Nice Spanish Soddie Al, great covers!

Awesome modded Case Biscuit, Glen does great work! Love the canvas micartas for soddies, a real workin material for a workin knife!

Yes, that canvas Case Soddy is primo numero uno!

Now, will someone with "privileges" give this thread the 5 star rating it deserves?:)

Al, that is a SWEET ciervo navaja de campana by JJ Martinez; congrats!!:thumbup::cool: My daughter, who lives in Madrid, was trying to get one for me, but couldn't manage to do it. Is yours carbono or inox?

I guess I may as well add my newest modded Soddie Jr. to this thread. :D
...
Splendid Sodbuster Jr., Bob; very distinctive handles! Glenn did a great job!:thumbup:

It's 1055 Carbon steel. It's only 25.00 Euro's, but the shipping was like $22.00+ from Andalucia, Spain.

Thanks, Al. My daughter was looking for a stag-handled carbon steel Martinez in that pattern, and that was apparently much harder to locate for her than a stainless model. Hey! By the time I originally posted this, you had edited your post to note that your new knife is, in fact, carbon steel! Excellent find, sir!!:thumbup:

I sent you an email.:)

Picked this up at the local big lumber and tool store that's not orange. LOL

Already used it to open some boxes from my move. Liking this thing.......A LOT!!

I wouldn't mind some micarta for this one........make it so sweet!!

I have not been following this thread because i only just took some pics to post here. I have a few Soddie's, not all shown in these pics. Others are hiding out to surprise me at some future date.

My favorite of all is a 2 blade 4 3/4" Schlieper that is one of my main EDC's. It fits perfectly in the AGR sheath. I have a second example that is unused.

Very BIG

The smaller one is just under 5" closed. Big Daddy is 8 1/4" closed. It is not a display knife. It's a working knife, "Folding Machete" ?

Wow, what a great thread. Until I started prowling this forum a few months ago, I didn't know what a sodbuster was. Now I do, and I also know that the wood-handled Loewen knife I bought in a department store in Amsterdam in 1970 is not a sodbuster, but more properly a Hippekniep.

I still have the knife, and apparently a bit of the virus as well. Sorry, no pics. My crappy cell phone pics came out even worse than usual. It is 4.75" closed and 8.75" open, with a pretty stiff spring and some patina that it comes by honestly.

KJ, love the collection! Would love to see them all laid out so we can see all the beauty:D The two blade Schliepers have always caught my eye, real beauties! I wish they made them in a smaller version, I'd be all over them for an edc.

Henry, crappy cell pics are still good, would really like to see your 1970's Loewen Messer!
